    Tribit Flybuds C1

    Introduction

True wireless is getting easier to break into, with these small brands making their names known on Amazon. The affordable pricing also helps that notion, with most of these types of products costing less than a hundred bucks. Tribit is one of these brands, and I got to try out their Flybuds C1 earbuds model. It is priced affordably at $69.99. Can the C1 make a strong impression?

    Packaging & Contents

The Flybuds C1 arrived inside a very small white box with a prominent Tribit logo.

Helpful information can be found on the back.

Inside we find information about warranty, manual and introduction card.

The earbuds is packed very securely.

Everything you need is displayed right there when first removing the box top. The first thing that immediately stood out to me was the assortment of ear tips layered across the top. Along with the ones you'll already see on the buds themselves, there are 6 pairs of tips with three different sizes to choose from. I greatly appreciated this, especially considering how important tips are to sports earbuds.

You'll of course see your earphones and charging case below, but under the ear tip display is a small box containing the case's charging cable.

The case is fingerprint-sensitive black, medium-compact with a lid that moves a bit, but has a sturdy hinge.

A pleasant surprise is that the case can charge with USB-C instead of the old micro-USB.

    A Closer Look

In terms of the overall design, the Flybuds C1 sports an ergonomic architecture that aims for a tight and secure fit. The Flybuds C1 Bluetooth 5.2 wireless earbuds have a small, teardrop-shaped appearance. They have a clean contoured profile, with a unique glossy black ABS plastic shell. The C1 ear tips extended well out from the buds themselves and made to seat deep in your ear. I'm not confident that they'll be the most ideal for workouts, but walking around with them in my ear was a pretty seamless experience. The control scheme of the C1 is complete and convenient, with touch sensors that register your touch well, with moderate response time. Play/Pause and Answering calls are predictably a single tap. For skipping tracks back and forth and rejecting calls is a double tap. Triple tap for voice assistant.

Both the earpieces and the charging case are best described as straightforward. The case isn't fragile at all, but I do suggest handling it with a bit of care. The same applies to the earbuds, they can handle a few punches but still, it's always better to treat them with care.

    Performance

The Tribit Flybuds C1 supports SBC and aptX CODECs. The latest Qualcomm QCC3040 chip built-in and Bluetooth 5.2 technology create an all-round upgrade with optimized Bluetooth transmission, flawless connection (75% more stable than the last generation). Plus, power consumption is reduced by 30% from the last generation. 10-12 hours is an adequate battery life for a single charge. However as with most Bluetooth earbuds, this is a manufacturer's rating support on playtime at moderate volumes. Your real performance will vary based on bit rate, volume, and other factors. For the price point, there isn't much to complain about. Four additional charges are stored in the C1's charging case, so the buds are sure to get you through a few commutes before you need to charge them. Connectivity on the C1 is robust. The Bluetooth 5.2 connection holds stable up to ten meters, also when walking or cycling.

It's easy to enjoy watching videos with the C1. The synchronization between audio and video is rock-solid on both Android and iPhone, with only minimal audio delay on the YouTube-app on the latter. As is always the case on affordable wireless earbuds, there is a delay in sound effects when playing games. When you call with the C1 in normal indoor and outdoor circumstances, your voice appears clear and loud.

The Tribit Flybuds C1 has a smooth, full sound that is pleasant to listen to at lower and higher volumes. There's a steady bass thump which reveals itself as easy in singer-songwriter songs, as it does in more bass-focused genres like pop, hip-hop, and dance. Strengthened further with a gentle sub-bass rumble, the bass section feels nicely present, yet it's never overbearing. Contributing to the smooth sound is the quick roll-off of upper-mid tones and highs. It's not that there aren't any higher tones to be discovered in the music, but they're edging towards the lower frequencies. With its slightly boosted lower tones, male vocals gain warmth and thickness over them, while female vocals can sound a bit more smooth and dark than on earphones extending the highs further. Instrumental, a drum kick will often seem more present on the C1 than a guitar-string-pulling or violin section. Those instruments and higher-pitched vocals can use a little more forwardness, a bit more activity. This sound character makes the C1 easy to listen to. At lower volumes - which work great on the C1 because of the tight, noise-blocking fit of the earpieces - but also at higher volumes, where the sound remains smooth. The C1 never sounds bright or harsh. On top of that, the soundstage is good. The music feels around you instead of shouting directly into your ears, and details come from the left and right of you. It's also possible to place instruments - and as it should be, vocalists are straight in front of you. The Tribit Flybuds C1 will likely please lots of listeners: it has an engaging but controlled bass, it always sounds smooth, and at the same time, it still delivers a nice airy feel in the music.

    Final Thoughts

In my in-depth Tribit Flybuds C1 review, I noticed C1 is a versatile and quality earbuds that gives a superb wireless experience. The bass and sound quality are also fantastic. Each earbud has a built-in microphone which translates your voice accurately. Excellent design and it can fit smoothly in your ears. In the box, you will receive three sets of additional ear tips. If you want to make sure the most good possible fit, swap out for various sets. With the touch sensors feature, you will easily control sound with a single touch. no waterproof rating. The battery life is impressive, to say the least. This is where the Flybuds C1 punches heavily above its weight. In optimal conditions, you get 10-12 hours of playtime from a single charge. This can be a bit less on higher volumes or when using the controls often. The charging case provides 4 extra charges before it needs to recharge itself. Costs have had to be saved somewhere however, and Flybuds C1 isn't waterproof rating.

The Tribit Flybuds C1 is an excellent example of budget-friendly earbuds with a performance that exceeds its price range. With 12 hours of playtime and a full, smooth sound, the Tribit Flybuds C1 is an excellent buy - even though competition at this price point is insane.
