    Modem question

I am finally switching internet companies. I am needing a cable modem and they say it needs to be a Docsis 3. There are so many out there. Does the cable modem make a difference? I have never used one before so I'm kind of new to the cable modem stuff. Thanks.

i would go with most commonly used which is the Motorola Surfboard model. Docsis3.0 will give you the full bandwidth you'll be paying for, there are older 2.0 modems but you wont want that. Are you in SoCal by any chance? I have a few modems laying around I dont have a use for.

If you need 3.0 and not 3.1 then it does not really matter. If it is 3.1 you need one from your ISPs qualified list. There is only one chipset right now with 16x4 or more, so they are really the same for 3.0.
