    evaporator can't transfer heat fast enough ??

    Hello

    The unit i have can handle easily 250w -38c load at evaporator outlet .
    When i used the system to cool heavily overclocked old Qx6700 with high voltage the cpu temp was always under (-15c under load) .

    now when i testing 3770k (cpu delided) (5.4 ghz and 1.35v) i am getting cpu temp (+30-+40c under load . mount was perfect) , i checked temperature of evaporator outlet (-40c) , evaporator base temp -10c .


    This mean the evaporator can't fast enough transfer heat .

    what solution , use another evaporator ? .

    the 3770k at those speed is under 200w load , so i think captube adjustment is out of question , the unit have already more than enough capacity for the given load and the evaporator outlet temp is -40c .
    Note evaporator i have is from a vapochill ls .

    Bad contact

    You should not have more than a 20 degree TD between core and evap.

    Even if you have R134a in a vacuum the TD should not be that big.

    i did more than 10x mount the result is almost same few degree better maybe , according to the thermal past the mount was near ideal .

    the question is , is it normal to have a difference of 30c across the evaporator ? . i will attach image to explain .

    If the internals of the evap are not good which I suspect with that vapochill one it does not matter what your hx exit temps are because if there is not enough surface area to actually transfer the heat into the refrigerant and cause it to experience a phase change then it will stay as a liquid and evaporate in the suction line. On my cap in cap ebap I can have the ebap at -10c but the suction line at -50c

    if this is the case then how the same evaporator can cool a QX6700 (@ high volt and freq about 250-280w [1.75v /4.2 ghz]) and keep the cpu under -15c under load . The 3770k a lot less TDP @ 1.35v ???

    if it is evaporator fault anyway then what evaporator you suggest to buy .

    Well a few things come to mind. The first is thermal density. I am guessing the 6700x is a lot less dense of a core so it is easier to cool, for instance on my 1.5hp single stage I can do 500W+ on my load tester with the load tester staying subzero but on a direct die 8700k at 250w the chip hits 10c at 1.62v due to really high thermal density and low area to dissipate the heat. The other thing is that thermal sensors in the cpu are not very good subzero or even sub 25c so they can not be trusted for single stage temp reading. I have an e2180 thinks it is running at 800c on my dual stage at idle. As for evaps that are good, in my opinion, there is only one good one and that is the bartx 600W evap. None of the others hold up to it, the small things like the chilly1 just don't cut it for any real modern chips

    well i ordered the bartx evaporator , we will see by how much the temp will improve , i am also planing to use 20 plate heat exchanger and water cooling for single stage ,

    finally evaporator at the post office , will go and get it , in the evening i will post how it look .

    as promised , i got the mail today here is how it looks :









    all was well packed , the quality of evaporator is great , it look a bit different from their site in the inside design .

    will try to solder it (hopefully once i have some spare time ) , and i can then compare how it perform vs vapochill ls head.

    It does not come with any. He sells cpu and gpu kits separately

    So it 80 Euro for the Evap and another 50 Euro for the CPU mounting Kit. Does the CPU mounting kit also do GPU's as it's not listed as such?

    He sells kits for gpus as well. I think they are 25
