    SSD question

Have a samsung 840 pro 512gb. Past couple of weeks its started crawling to the point of locking up the computer. Ran the samsung magician software to test it out. All tests came out good except the random write (IOPS) with a real low score. Smart status still shows good health. Its not even half full. Figured it was getting ready to bite the dust. I start deleting all programs I have installed to get ready to nuke it and do a reinstall. its my way of writing down the app, then delete it so I know what to put back on. here is the kicker. Decided to run the test again. Now the random write (IOPS) is back to the high mark as if nothing is wrong. Am still going to nuke it but wondering if its still ready to bite the dust. Opinions? Thanks.

See if a program like HDD Guardian says there is anything different than what Magician says. It will read all the SMART data and maybe give you more info.

Or maybe one of the programs you uninstalled was the culprit?

Am in the middle of the reinstall. Once the OS with all updates are installed, plan to run magician after each new program install to see if i can pinpoint the culprit. Running win7 pro. Its my cruncher and my gaming rig. Play WoT only. Its a hex system. Just seemed weird after uninstalling all the programs the test results on that one poor result came right back up. Am looking into other programs that can test ssd drives. heck, its only 2 years old. Boinc data is on another hard drive so it shouldn't wreck the ssd drive. My crunching time almost doubled on the project i'm on now. Could another drive bog down the ssd?
