The heat exchanger you are using isn't a condenser but an evaporator. Follow the flow through the 180 bends and you will see it doesn't flow down consistently as it should. It goes down then back up then down and so on. It will work, but it's not what you want for a condenser. I have used evaporators like that for condensers before and they do work, it's just not optimal.

I can't understand what you meaning. I follow the flow on the condenser tubes and the refrigerant goes from top to bottom as it should, no down an up as you say.

From the pictures it looked like every other 180 elbow went up slightly. I have a heat exchanger that does that. I think the pictures were just misleading, I was assuming it was the same as one I have that does that. It was hard to make out from the pictures. Glad to hear it's working now btw!

looking good like the water cooling on the desuper heater coil, unseen made some nice units back in the days
