New Build Recommendations - Expert help appreciated

Hi guys,

I wish to build a relatively budget gaming pc with an investment of no more than 1000euros (only for tower and contents).

As I haven't been following much the latest evolution I was wondering whether an expert could suggest parts and platform (is AMD/Intel better? I see Ryzen CPUs can be remarkable for lower budget builds).

As you may have noticed these forums are a little dead im afraid.
If you haven't found what your looking for yet this may be a good place to start as although the builds are in AU$ they are relatively up to date hardware wise.

Ryzen 2600 is definitely the best bang for buck CPU out there but your overclocked 4790K is faster in any software that uses 4 cores or less so I am guessing this isn't a replacement for your current beast.

I'd be looking at an 9600k, Vega 64, (or a 1080 if you can find) some pc3200 16gb kit, and a Samsung M2 drive. Not sure how EU works out but depending on what size hard drive you get and how high end you go with ram you should be around 650 for the CPU/Graphics, 200 for HDD/ram. No reason to spend big on mobo's these days IMO unless you have some special need. They pretty much all overclock well snuff these days.
