Has Anyone Used an Intel i9 with an MMO?

I've got a bit of a hodgepodge PC currently -- my SSD and GPUs are only a year old, but my motherboard and CPU are about 6 years old. I am curious if a new MoBo and a new CPU would help performance on GW2.

It's a bit of a buzz-kill that when I play Guild Wars 2 with two 1080 Ti's in SLi that I still rarely get over 60FPS at 4k.

The Witcher 3 gives me about 100 FPS, so I know MMOs might benefit more from a CPU upgrade

You might get better FPS with a new CPU, but as far as GW2 goes, I believe the game uses old GW1 code + new stuff, quick google search shows many have problems even with new equipment.

It is not threaded and this guys claims they do not plan to so a i9 is overkill. You would be better off with a high speed Coffee Lake than an i9 for GW2 and your FPS will go up.
