    Sandberg Powerbank 6000 Wireless + USB-C

    Introduction

Once in a while, there's a Powerbank that is capable of doing more than just being a regular Powerbank. Sometimes there's a wireless charger that is capable of being more than just a wireless charger. Sometimes you can get the best of both worlds and get a power bank that's capable of wireless charging. That's what this Sandberg Powerbank 6000 Wireless + USB-C is. It's capable of wireless charging and normal USB charging through its two ports. With that said, it this too good to be true? Find out if this Powerbank really lives up to what it's meant to be.

    Specifications.

    Packaging & Contents

Sandberg's Wireless Powerbank comes in a relative small box.The front displays a large image of the Dock. The top of the box is just a blue with Sandberg's logo prominently displayed.

At the rear of the box we see a description of the product printed in many languages.

The scope of delivery includes only the manual and a micro-usb cable. To keep costs low the Sandberg Powerbank 6000 Wireless + USB-C ships without an AC adapter.

    A Closer Look

The top and bottom of the Powerbank are plastic. The side rim of the Powerbank is steel with a slim textured line that runs throughout the middle of the strip. Overall the quality and build of the materials used are to make the Powerbank easier to hold. The plastic top and bottom don't leave smudges but it's still open to scratches.

Slim and sleek design makes it easy to carry anywhere you go. This design ensures that it can be easily slipped into your backpack or office bag.

It weighs approximately the same as a lipstick charger but is more convenient because it can stick to the back your phone and not dangle while charging.

On the top of the charger is where you'll find 4 White LED power capacity indicators.

The main attraction for this Powerbank is that it's a wireless charger as well. The Sandberg Powerbank 6000 Wireless + USB-C has two charging Outputs and a Single Coil for wireless charging. You just lay your compatible device in the center at the top of the Powerbank to charge it wirelessly. The Powerbank wireless charger comes with a 6,000mAh power capacity, which is below the capabilities that this Powerbank is made for, we'll get to the reason behind that soon. We can see the power button right next to them. To turn on the Powerbank, simply tap the power button. To turn on the Powerbank and turn on wireless charging you must hold down the power button until the red wireless charging light turns on.

Just suck your mobile phone on the sucker and it will firmly stay on it,you can also play games, watch video or answer a call without difficulty while charging wireless or wired.

    Performance

There are three ways to charge your devices with this Powerbank. The first one that we want to mention is a most used method with portable chargers and that would be through its USB-A output port. There is a single USB port and it has a charging speed of 5V/2.1A. It's quite fast and the USB port charging with this Powerbank is faster than the wireless charging that this charger has. It'll be able to charge smartphones quite quickly, but at the same time, it doesn't feature Quick Charge so you won't be able to charge your Quick Charge compatible devices at their max charging speed. Recharging this power bank is done also through a USB-C port and the fact that it uses USB-C to recharge shows forward thinking from Sandberg. There are definitely more power banks on the market that are using USB-C for recharging, but many portable chargers are still using Micro-USB. It's with this USB-C input that you're able to recharge this Powerbank at a charging speed of 5V/2.4A and we're glad to see a faster recharging speed with a mini portable charger and have it join the new USB-C standard of charging.

Then the main charging method and the reason that you're getting this charger is Wireless charging. The wireless charging speed with this power bank is 5V/1.0A and it's quite good in terms of wireless charging. That said, this isn't the fastest charging speed that you're able to get with wireless charging as dedicated wireless chargers such as the Samsung wireless charger use a Quick Charge wall charger in order to output a wireless charging speed of 5V/1.0A. Of course, not being able to output the max wireless charging speed isn't a fatal flaw with this Sandberg Powerbank as it's a Powerbank that features wireless charging. The most surprising thing about this power bank is not exactly the 3 options of charging, rather it's the fact that you can use the two USB charging ports and the wireless charging capabilities all at the same time with this power bank. So far so good, right? Well not really and here's why. If you're going to be taking advantage of all three charging options all at the same time, the Powerbank has a hard time keeping up with the amount of current it needs to Output. As a result, charging speed is lessened with the USB charging Output ports. A smartphone that's supposed to be getting a charging speed of 1.5A may only get a charge of 1.0A because the Powerbank can't keep up with the power output needs for all the devices connected the charger. Since one smartphone isn't getting enough power, the other smartphone that's connected to the other USB charging port has a lower charging speed as well. Just to clarify: Just because you can charge 3 devices at once, does not mean it will charge all of them at max speed. Charge speed is limited. Remember, the Powerbank also has to account for a wireless charging device too. Ultimately, when you're using this power bank that has a lot of capabilities, you have to strategize on how you want to use it. If you're going to mostly use the USB ports then charging will actually stabilize back to a 2.1A potential charging output and devices will charge at their optimal levels. So charging two devices is the best choice if you want your charging experience to be fast. It's somewhat of a disappointment but it's an expected disappointment for a Powerbank that has so much potential but the execution of its charging is lacking. When you have three options to charge, that means the power bank will be Outputting current in three different places and forcing itself to give the maximum output. However, as we said before, the Powerbank doesn't do so well with keeping up with powering need. With that said, charging three devices at the same time is still quite tasking and can result in lots of heat being generated. The Powerbank does have safety guards to stop it from causing damage to itself or your device in times when the Powerbank is being heated up too much and the safety tech can potentially prevent a fire.

    Conclusion

I like new and different items and this does surely fit the bill for new and different. Build quality for this wireless charging power bank feels great. It is very modern and sleek with a cool black design. The size of this power bank is about the same size as a smartphone and it's also lightweight. The charger is made of plastic but even so, the entire structure is built very well. Definitely not shock resistant but it should do well with everyday use and place your phone on it for wireless charging repeatedly holds no problems. This wireless charger is so handy and easy to use. Just suck your mobile phone on the sucker and it will firmly stay on it, you can also play games, watch video or answer a call without difficulty while charging wireless or wired. On the tech, we had our concerns with this charger and the reason for that is because wireless charging produces quite a lot of heat when you're dealing with stationary ones. Taking wireless charging with a portable charger could have turned out to be quite dangerous. Fortunately, Sandberg was smart to make the wireless charging at a slow 1 Amp and therefore, you're able to safely wirelessly charge your smartphone with this Powerbank without it risking any overheating. The Powerbank's functional features such as the Input and Output ports, button and LED lights are able to function perfectly with every use. There isn't very much power capacity to be used here, but it's enough to charge most smartphones to full power at least 1.5 times. Charging is alright, but the main reason this charger was created so that you could take wireless charging with you practically anywhere, and you don't get Quick Charge with the USB port and wireless charging speed is okay, but isn't the fastest. Good news is that it makes use of USB-C recharging and as a result, it has faster recharging.

It's a reliable Powerbank if you know how to use it and when to use. It's a portable charger that you're going to want to consider getting if you own a wireless charging compatible smartphone and are someone that finds wireless charging useful. Wireless charging isn't used too much, but the way that it can be implemented within other charging electronics such as this Sandberg Powerbank 6000 Wireless + USB-C proves to be very useful. Overall, if you are looking for a nice, fairly priced ($44.99) Wireless Powerbank, I think that the Sandberg Powerbank 6000 Wireless + USB-C is well worth a look.
