    X299 motherboard dual 8-pin

There are two 8pin sockets on Asus Rampage VI Apex.

1.) Are both of them for CPU?
2.) Do PSUs provide dual 8pin? If my PSU (Seasonic Focus Plus 650W) does not support it, what can I do?

-both 8pins = more stable power to cpu
-most enthusiast level PSUs do comes two 8pins, separately from pci-e cables

I have buyed a new Asrock X299 Taichi XE motherboard who has also dual 8-pin
My power supply is a Antec Signature 850W with one 8-pin connection and 2 pci-e 6+2pin cables
    So i think i can use 8-pin & 6+2-pin cable to power cpu i9 7960X or i9 7980XE

I would recommend googling the pinouts of the PCI-E power connector and the CPU power connector to make sure they are the same voltages and what not, if they are, and don't fit, mod the proper connector on the end of a PCI-E power cable.

I got a reply from Antec!

    Dear Sir,

Unfortunately, the answer is NO, you CAN NOT use the PCI-E cable for CPU cable, 8p(4+4p) CPU ≠ 8p(6+2p) PCI-E.

    You need to buy one 8pin to 8pin EPS12V or 8pin to 8(4+4)pin ATX12V/EPS12V.

My Antec Signature 850W is too old for a i9 7980XE.

So i have to buy a new power supply..i'm looking around and always come back to these EVGA Supernova 1300 G2 or 1600 G2
The Corsair AX1200i or AX1500i but high price..
It has to be a PSU who has 2 x 8pin EPS 12V ..these 4 has that..
    continue searching..

    @StyM you prefer a Evga 1200W P2 above Evga 1600W G2 for some reason?!

    Thanks,
