ryzen 1700/170x budget build, advise needed.

long story short, i lost my account info (i found nemo) and i've kinda been out of the computing scene so i was wondering if you guys could help get me up to speed (pun intended) looking to upgrade from my 8350 @ 4.3ghz and 1gb ram @ 1066 mhz running on an msi 970a

so, i'm seeing people saying there's speed limitations with certain ram on these cpus if it's not samsung -b die, is this correct?
all the ram i can find (8gbx2) seems to be around $200 so i was hoping if i spent that much.. maybe i could get alink to a proper -b die set of ram.
for the motherboard dual pci-e x8 would be fine for me, idk if i'll ever need a second rx 480, but it'd be nice to have.
motherboard heat sink mount is backwards with am3/am2/ ect ect ect ???

my absolute max is 600 total, if you guys could throw some links to ram/cpu/mobo i'd appreciate it. 1700x cheapest i can find is 289. and i haven't even figured out how to decipher mobo / ram (best bang for buck)

If in US wait for black Friday.Newegg has 1800x for 320 & 1700x 280.Gigabyte K7 X370 for like 180 or so.

Iv played with x370 gigabyte and asus crosshair hero.They all have dilemmas.Id go gigabyte K7 OR ASUS CROSSHAIR x370.Crosshair can run AM3 and AM4 coolers.

Cant go wrong with G Skill flare x 3200 cl14.B-Die.No sweat 3466 cl14 on crosshair.If your looking for higher ram OC theres better choices.Requires some tweaking.

thank you mr crue! yes i do love tweaking, when i get time that is. ram tweaking is an art, i'm not the best artist but i would like to make it work! dude thanks for the info on ram and new eggs deal.. also nice info on the cross hair cooler info, had a nice unit here wasn't sure if i'd be able to re-use it or not

on a budget? the MSI B350 Tomahawk has been a fine board and nice paired with the GSkill Flare X 16GB 3200 kit. Cost around $100, or $80 with rebate on newegg right now. I run a 1700 on that board and can run 4ghz on the corsair h100i.

Some of the gskill trident z's and z rgb's have samsung b die's.
I'm not sure at what specific speeds though.

You may wanna check the reviews to see if you can find a mention of the chip used, or look on google, the model #'s and samsung b.
Or ask here of course if anyone knows what kit is which.
I'm not on ddr4 myself so...
And you may wanna jump on this before next year, I'm betting they won't be around for that much longer, it's just generally how things go.
Ddr5 is around the corner so..., though I'm sure that won't be much good for another 2 years.

If you want a budget board, I like the ASRock B350 Pro4. Very good board for the price. That plus a 1700 is 8 cores at a shockingly low price. It's funny what people are used to being able to buy for less than $500 today.

As for RAM, well . . . either buy from this list:

I'm thinking that FlareX for $175 is your best bet. Bottom line, get yourself some b-die and don't worry about the Hynix stuff.

If you're near a MicroCenter they have the 1700X for $229.99 right now. Plus $30 off a MB when purchased together. Tax sucks though unless you can find exempt some how.

yeah, b350 chipset board is the sweet spot,
I think ASRock ab350 pro4 is the best budget so far.
