Apple's "Let's meet at our place," event from the Steve Jobs Theatre, has just concluded. In the wake of the detailed leaks over the weekend there weren't a lot of surprises to be had, at least not with regard to the headlining hardware. Apple took what seemed like an eternity droning on about its third generation Watch, with built in cellular connectivity, and then the Apple TV with 4K capabilities before moving on to the main attractions. Then Phil Schiller came on to reveal and chat about the new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Finally CEO Tim Cook took to the stage to present "one more thing," the highly anticipated iPhone X. He described the tenth anniversary Apple smartphone as "the biggest leap forward since the original iPhone".

Aside from the fact that Samsung both was first to market and sources Apple's display, sure, Apple invented bezelless phones.

it is not even bezelless. it is frame less. they are also claiming they made windows 8 and intel real sense.

I actually really like the top. They made better use of their screen real estate than the S8 does (though I think Essential phone really did the best job out of everyone).

But I'm not their target customer. I waited for the Note 8 to come out - and bought an S7 Edge for $30 LOL. Really can't complain; it's a beautiful phone and has amazing battery life. Curved edge is kinda overrated - but again, I paid $30 .

Like always, it has features most other phones have already had or have done...yet their commercials will call it "Magical!" LOL the Minions are going to love it!

I love fingerprint sensors. Very accurate and secure. Don't trust facial recognition yet though for a variety of reasons.

How do we know this 3D dot projector is robust to wear and tear? What happens if dirt gets on it? What happens if your face changes due to thanksgiving dinner or going on a diet? These are all real concerns that Apple customers probably couldn't care less about.

I played with facial rec on my S8+ for a few days before I disabled, was really annoying when I had my phone on my desk and I looked down to check the time or a notification and the phone would constantly unlock.

i always love how apple releases features other phone have, with less capability, and then says they reinvented the wheel. S8 has facial rec, fingerprint, iris scan, headphone jack, sd card, etc....
