The headline should read Intel chooses to interfere in hwbot rankings and $hit on the customers that they want to pay for there product.

Some guys get to run up results for cost of time/ln2....some have to shell out $1500 plus ln2 costs.

Lets not even discuss how it impacts rankings until product is launched...

Quite demotivational to say the least.

Good thing i only do this for fun now.

i thought pre release and parts you cannot buy are not HW bot legal. i remember there was a problem with pascal bios and custom cards vince was using that were not ever available to the public.

Well its pretty freakin dirty if you ask me, no way those overclockers randomly ended up with unreleased processors on threadrippers release date. This was planned and coordinated effort between intel and these oberclockers to mitigate threadrippers launch hype.

It was an absolutely dirty move on intels part.

Probably will. Currently though I do not see a huge margin of performance between the 2...i see a clock speed gap which....for the 24/7 customer amounts to a hill of beans if that gap is lost on normal ambients.

I was fully expecting the 16c and 18c Skylake-X parts to beat Threadripper in everything, so I'm not surprised? TR's value is that the 16c part is only $999 with a platform that is pretty sophisticated and that costs about the same as x299.

But hey good for Intel? I guess?
