I refuse to participate in any debate with creationists because doing so would give them the "oxygen of respectability" that they want.
Creationists don't mind being beaten in an argument. What matters to them is that I give them recognition by bothering to argue with them in public.

You should probably want TR, it will do 16x4ghz , while on epyc you have 32x2ghz(base).
Would be fun if EPYC would be unlocked tho

Hopefully this makes Intel drop thier prices. When AMD is behind Intel goes up Up UP. I remember extreme edition was like 2400 bucks when the A64 came out, I don't see how i9 can add two cores for $1,000 extra and hold that price. That being said that 18 core part may be vaporware anyways.

AMD is going to slaughter Intel in the price game. I may be incorrect, but from what it looks like, AMD is only making one chip and scaling it from the Ryzen 3 all the way up to Threadripper and Epyc.

If this is the case, I can imagine greater profit margins for AMD's 1950X at $1000 than Intels i9 at $2000. Even if AMD doesn't cut into Intel's market share as much as we would like, I wouldn't be surprised if they have a lot of extra cash for future R&D.

With Treadripper AMD directly attacked to Intel's income model. 10 core vs 16 core at same price...

If intel won't react quickly (don't know they are ready for this) AMD willl destroy their WS market.

They will cut into Intel's market but won't come close to dominating. There are still plenty of people that only want the best and Intel still holds two out of three crowns: performance per clock/core and overclock headroom. AMD's performance / price is a big advantage but not enough to be dominant.

However, 64 PCI-E lanes can be a game changer... I'm very curious what motherboard manufactures do with that.

Actually I guess I will prefer a 7900x over a 16c threadripper but on WS market I don't think that will be the case.

I certainly do not need Threadripper brute power/performance, as the only stressfull activity I do these days is lightroom, it is still very tempting, especially @ AMD's competitive price point

Plus the added benefit of actually having a choice to Intel's overpriced monopoly offerings

    Happy days ahead
lots and lots of cores and lots and lots of tuners,HTPC's boards,cases,HDD's,vga's,DDR1&2&3 etc etc all powered by Corsair PSU's
