I had a chance to test out the new PCMark 10 Professional Edition. I loaded a new SSD on the machine in my signature. As I am about to rotate this old junker to the new X299 platform I decided to bench it again with the new PCMark 10.
This beast is an Intel 6950X on an Asus Rampage E10 with Galax Hall of Fame DDR4, a pair of GTX 1070's in SLI and an Intel 750 SSD. The AIO CPU cooler is now a Enermax 240 Liqmax.
Looking at the system requirements of PCMark 10, it recommends a dual core with 4GB of ram so I was should score pretty good, I updated BIOS and updated to the latest Windows 10 Enterprise LSTB /UEFI.
I plugged in some safe numbers for 1.2vdimm and ran everything at auto, I scored close to 4700 without memory timing but I did not submit or save the score.

Locking all cores at 4200Mhz I got a much better result. I kept it pretty simple, uncore and memory timing kept way safe.

After increasing memory to find very little scaling in the benchmark sore I needed another 100Mhz to crack 7K

What did we learn? PCMark 10 is void of HDD/SDD tests but there a few loading time tests mixed in with Content Creation.
PCmark 10 is not searchable nor is it on the ORB, I really hope to see it on the ORB. The ORB is Futuremarks Online Result Browser.
The most scaling will come with CPU speed, but I did see a good number for scaling with cores and that is +50 points for each thread as I dropped cores in BIOS and reran to see this approximate number hold true on the 6950X CPU. That being said, I expect to get a far better score on a faster lesser core CPU. Digital Content Creation took the biggest hit in score.
The PCMark 10 benchmark is a bit faster than what people are normally used to with the old PCMarks but not by much.
The Gaming portion of the benchmark is the Firestrike benchmark in a window, I would loved to see something new.
Looking at the tests we can see that most tests are timed and for this machine .3s really slow for "copy/pasting" but on tests like "Thumbnail loading" 0.17068s I hope that the Optane will improve this number.
In the Photo score we can see runs a few filter tests and in the Video it does FPS tests where one is limited to the monitor sync refresh rate.
As for the tests, it has three major tests, quick, standard, and extended. The assume the standard test is what you get with the basic version and the quick and extended are for the higher price tiers. With the professional version used by reviewers has all three unlocked as well as customizing the sub tests as well as options for troubleshooting.
The other thing that stands out is this version of PCMark is DX11 and higher even though it will run on Windows 7 as most of the performance scoring will come from having decent GPU's in your system.
And PCMark 10 puts a little more into CPU/GPU reporting and actually does a great job in this graph, this is part of the results screen expanded.

I think they hit mark for test times and thoroughness of the testing but a few of us were let down with the lack of HDD/SDD tests as part of the scoring.
