Intel is licensing AMD graphics [Fudzilla]

We can confirm rumours that Intel has given up on Nvidia written a cheque to licence AMD's graphics.

It looks like the veteran GPU editor Kyle Bennet was right when he first reported the rumour, however wild it sounded.

Fudzilla is known for sometimes spreading unconfirmed rumors, but they don't seem to present this one as a rumor...
I don't know them to post flat out lies, could this be?

This has been rumored for a while now:

I personally think there's an air of truth to it.

I feel like Intel hit an 'EU Wall' -- slapping on more graphic clusters, and subsequently eDRAM, was a costly solution that clearly had diminishing returns.

It makes sense. AMD has a lot of graphics IP that will be beneficial to Chipzilla without having to slap an "AMD Inside" logo on the processor...

Though I suspect Lisa Su would be okay with that.

Wasn't Intel already licensing graphics IP from Nvidia?

this is the same deal they had with Nvidia since 2011 after the lawsuit, except now it's with AMD.

This doesn't mean Intel will actually use AMD graphics IP, its just a deal to protect them from getting sued while they continue to use their own graphics ip. Intel is licensing AMD gfx for patent protection.
