[News] AMD Works on At Least Three Radeon RX Vega SKUs [Update: Vega Faster than TxP]

    https://www.techpowerup.com/233004/a...-than-gtx-1070

AMD could be working on at least three SKUs based on its upcoming "Vega 10" silicon to make up its Radeon RX Vega series. Leaked 3DMark validations point to a device ID that's third in a series of possible device IDs of graphics cards based on the "Vega 10" silicon, the 687F:C1, 687F:C2, and 687F:C3. All three SKUs feature 8 GB of HBM2 memory, and according to leaked 3DMark TimeSpy scores, the "slowest" SKU is faster than NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070. The fastest SKU is in the same league as the GTX 1080 Ti.

The three SKUs could differ with core-configuration and clock speeds. AMD carved four SKUs out of its "Fiji" silicon, the liquid-cooled R9 Fury X, the air-cooled R9 Fury (with 12.5% fewer shaders), the SFF-friendly R9 Nano (full core-config, but aggressive power-management), and the halo dual-GPU Radeon Pro Duo (1st gen). AMD could take a similar approach with "Vega 10." AMD is expected to launch its Radeon RX Vega series within Q2-2017.

I mean, is beating the 1070 really all that impressive? Even if it's just a Rx Nano variant, I'd still want it to at least keep pace with the 1080.

Dual GPU card? That doens't look right unless I've missed something. Even with AMD's Vulcan API.

Interesting little confidential sticker in the left hand bottom part of that slide - "confidential until May 8th" - funny that coincides with nVidia's GTC event. Someone must want to rain on nVidia's parade.

Anywho, I'm sure we will find out more info about Volta on that day too - should be a fun day in the news section!

What happened to 2 Vegas, a larger die & a smaller 1? Thought that was the plan, should've given them at least 4 SKU's that way, no? Didn't see mention of clockspeeds either?

AMD does REALLY well in Doom though. I saw an article stating the RX 480 gained over 30% increases from Vulkan alone.

Not to be a party pooper, but this slide is almost surely a fake .
Txp is not 2 times faster than the 1080.

If it turns out that in DOOM Vega is faster than Titan XP (not to be confused with Titan Xp or Titan xP!!!), I'd be completely unsurprised. That shader code is basically hand-coded for the Polaris architecture - which Vega isn't super-different from.
    Sigs are obnoxious.

Most likely it is Fury X at 62fps.
    GTX1080 gets 72fps.
    GTX1080Ti gets 98fps.

If the slide is real we don't know the particular system they used as a base. AMD probably used a ryzen based system where guru3d used a haswell E.

    I suppose we'll know soon.

Well as this doom slide is 99% fake, we wont know tomorrow ;-) .
However, if you wanna see some weird sh it look at these scores in the newest sniper ghost warrior 3

And believe me, this site is not pro amd, they even recently got "dumped" by amd and are no longer receiving samples for reviews.(they have a testing methodology that is particurarly hard on ryzen cpus in games)
