Funny how the FX-8350 still shows up on people's wish lists. Those things don't always get updated in a timely fashion, though.

8 core(?) FX`s are dirt cheap nowadays, to be honest they do make a lot of sense for folks that dont care about power draw and dont need 144hz gameplay.

I dunno, Amazon has it for ~$120 which is not that cheap for what it is.

An R5 1400 is $170. I would take that over the 8350 in a heartbeat.

For a new platform it is looking good, lots of issues that needed attention got it.

I built my wife a nice 1800X system with my spare parts, she loves it.

    Word.

Ryzen is a great solution for most of what people need a PC to do at a reasonable price. It will be awhile before we get another deal this good.

Right now you can put an R7-1700 on an ASRock B350 board, maybe bump it to 3.7.-3.8 GHz, and go to town. Add in some DDR4-3600 for guaranteed B-die (a bit spendy but you saved on the board) and it's a great setup. Maybe sometime next month AMD will help the OEMs get the various non-B-die kits up to 3200 MHz, saving people even more money.

I overspent for mine, but I don't really care. Regardless I won't get much more out of my system than someone who used the above setup.
