HDD is going bad. Best way to transfer to new HDD?

I have windows 10. One of my hdd is going bad. It is my doc, pictures and other things. No OS. Should I use a cloning software? Should I just copy and paste? What does everyone use to get this kind of info and not an OS from hdd to hdd? Thanks.

You can make a backup and then restore to a new HDD or SSD. If you have a large amount of data then you could just clone the disk to a new one. I use the free home version of Macrium Reflect which can do all these things.
