I had a chance to push the 1700 last night for about three hours on the Autocascade with the busted USB GBT X370 board. It hit exactly where I expected based on the close binning window and gate leakage. When AMD reduces gate leakage through advancements in process it will be good competition for Intel.
I did not run it on AIO yet, hopefully next week as I attempt to boot OS X Sierra on it with the AIO.

That is the max speed I could loop threaded applications with two cores enabled. I tried to get 5Ghz stable but this chip at this temperature would not give me the 5Ghz like the 1700X and 1800X. Due to bug the screen shot shows 4c4t enabled or the BIOS setting is incorrect. I went back into to confirm the 2+2 setting in BIOS and I also switched to 4+0 and tested. The attached screenshot is 2+2 @ 1.7v
And for the max speed all cores and threads enabled @ 1.6v
This is the max the 1800X was getting from the same Autocascade.

200MHz between average and good RYZEN die on autocascade is quite a bit.
BTW is the screen above with 2+2 SMT on or off? It looks like off, but better to ask.

I fired up the 1700X and Aorus X370 on the auto cascade last night and tried to get 5ghz stable, I even dropped down to two cores to get 32M stable. I was in and out of BIOS with LLC and SOC bumps even lowing the voltage on vcore to get it to pass. I am bummed that my 1700X could not run the 3200Mhz divider for memory as well. The regular 1700 was able to no problem, so far the 1700 was the best memory OC chip.
I was tuning in 3000CL10 and the motherboard died on me, roughly one hour into session. I was in windows and rebooted to go into BIOS, post code was hanging at 15, I held the power button and it would not power off, I hit the power switch on the PSU. When I turn it on now it will do a quick set of power on and then off, It will do this power cycle about 8 times in two seconds and have 00 on the post LED.
I will go get a B350 to abuse next.

The asus b350 likes sammies. Hynix not so much.
Your going to be voltage limited on it. I can get about 1.50 max.
The prime x370 pro goes to 2.0v solid pwm but has some serious voltage fluctuation
Msi may need better memory support on b350.
No clue on giga read reports bios not working with sammy yet.

The mobo is dead. I tested with my 1700 in the socket and it does the same power loop thing.

Take everything out plug in 24 pin only flip psu on. Check pci x power the 5 power and 1 ground. If you need a pin out diagram let me know.
Probably still have my phone # to. Has not changed. Feel free to give me a buzz if needed.

Fugger, do you plan on trying higher mhz ram?
I've seen some benchmarks showing higher speed memory (3600mhz for instance) making a significant performance improvement.
You must [not] advance.

I would love to have shown higher memory speed but not all boards/chips can breach 3000Mhz where you lose stability and tests do not complete.
My 1700 has the best memory capability, I hit 3200C12 no problem but without turbo bclk built onto the motherboard I was not able to adjust to any speeds faster.
My 1800X cannot do XMP @ 2933Mhz

So my suspicions were correct, it may not be just the boards but the actually IMC being widely different in performance. I have a set of Trident Z that are rated for 3200c12 on x99 but can't get the timings to work properly no matter what on my 1800x even with the memory voltage set to 1.5V but others are able to. Luckly these cheap samsung single sided b die I have are able to do 3200C14 with AM4.
X99 qualified sticks i have cant do rated z270 platform stuff i bought do rated and better benching.
Part of its 10 timings piss off imc.
Even if you can do rated stability tests that hammer imc/mem pop errors @ 3200.
All other apps run flawless.
Oddly enough i can run 2933 on all 3 chips i have np stability imc/mem tests included.
Until i see boards i have on newer microcode i will hold off judgement as to imc or memory as the cause.

Have you guys tried loosening the timings a little on the ram?
From the little that I've seen, Ryzen craves overall speed over lower latency.
You must [not] advance.

I have, on my Trident Z that are 3200C12 rated on X99, I could only do 3200C14 and not boot any lower. However I have seen people do 3200C12 on Ryzen which is why it's pissing me off. Tried 3300-3600mhz C18 with 1.6V and still no dice.
Chew* Hmm that is so weird then, I would think the x99 rated ones are more stringent because of the quad channel. I noticed that as well but since I'm using it not as a daily driver, thought it was fine for now. Definitely a lot more fun then I anticipated even tho it's buggy as heck.
So far the MSI B350 is minimal but the bios is nice, what you would expect in a gaming board. First thing I tried was 3200C12 settings and rebooted no problem but when I tried to push the CPU to 4Ghz it would not get even close with 2+0 cores enabled.
I am setup on the EK Supremacy Predator 240 AIO cooler and I am using TG Hydro TIM. 3.5Ghz all cores in CB15 @ 1.2v was working. I will hook up the AC unit today and try again for 4Ghz 32M @ 1.4v 2+0
This board will confirm the chip or the board with 1800X and 1700X IMC incapability of 2933+

biostar racing application allows you to set higher voltage than bios
I was stuck at 1.5v vdimm as well on the gt7 before I figured this out. app probably works for other boards with IR controller and fets.

Zens biostar for example bricks bios smt off and downcore 2+0.
My x370 pro loves it.
