[News] AMD Radeon RX 580 Pops up in Ashes of the Singularity

    http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/amd...ngularity.html

In the previous news-item we just spoke about the possible Rx 500 series lineup of graphics cards. Now, the Radeon RX 580 just popped up in the Ashes of the Singularity benchmarks database.

Since there is no hard data in that card we cannot really compare, but if you dig into the database a little that is a card with GTX 1070 like performance - 7100 points in Standard 1080p preset. And you guys know that in the previous news item we just mentioned that Vega 11 might see an advanced early introduction and would be positioned above Polaris 10. That product would likely will get GDDR5X memory and would compete with ... the GeForce GTX 1070 and 1080. Then again it might as wwell be a Polaris refresh. There is just too little data available at the moment.

The guy who tested RX 580 the card is AMD folk as his Facebook profile mataches his real name AotS login reports videocardz today. Have a peek at the screenshot they took of the entry.

    Has to be fake.

There's no way the Ashes of Singularity developers already know the GPU codenames (note hardware config).

Right before GTX 1080ti launches we see a benchmark of Vega 580 with an underwhelming GTX 1070 performance. I think two things:

-this is the mainstream product and the Vega 590 is the high tier.
    -this must be fake.

Yeah, aside from the obvious (it would be a major fail for the 580 to not even compete in DX12), I just don't see any way the developers already have the GPU codename to populate the hardware config.

AMD employee using an I7 5820k instead of Ryzen, maybe he wanted to match a bench and needed to place the I7 for the test.

i would assume on the graphics side they would touch amd cpus (until today i guess) since there is no point in testing on the POS that was all of am3+

I'm assuming the 5x0 series would just be a upgrade and rebrand and real vega will be in a new Fury lineup.
