Two weeks ago my father in law, seventy years old had a stroke and he was rushed to ICU where he spent a week mostly unconscious attached to life support on machines breathing and dialysis before being released the a hospice, after the first night in the hospice we get the call at 4am that we need to come, his heart was failing and they took him into surgery that morning to install a pace maker.
He was also given a blood transfusion after the pace maker.
He came home Christmas eve and he walked through the door looking for his grand kids.
What we thought was a stroke was low oxygen levels in the blood and this was causing the speech problems.
2016 is not over but I think he will see 2017 and possibly beyond.
