p4c800, i think is like the p4p800, whats the big difference between board to board..

Same place as p4p800...

I made the question cuzz the "normal" vdimm mod on these two boards are the same but in different places on the pcb of the board...

Maybe i'm getting confused i dunno but doing that mod on a p4c800 aren't we going to put extra 3,3v on the mem's, i'm saying that cuzz i don't see no one saying that is we need disable the circuit that feeds the mem's on this board...any info on this question would be great...

I think I have a theory on the Asus A8V socket 939 OVP. It may also be the chipset voltage that is raised along the vdimm.....!?

Some time ago I modded a Chaintech VNF3-250 and the chipset voltage went from 1.74V to 1.9xV when raising the voltage to vdimm to around 3.24V.....Could that not be a reason for the lock ups in win with more than 3.15V?

Used the PIN4 and PIN8 to mod the vdimm. Well did not see it myself before, only by a coinsident (bad english). Only problem for me now is where to measure chipset voltage on the Asus A8V?

May some of you experts be able to help if I post a closeup of the mobo?

So I only have to solder 1 wire on the back of my motherboard from the points shown in your p4p800 picture, from atx 3.3v to the vdimm point you show? I guess I should remove the "normal" vdimm mod I did in the past. Should I worry about the old vdimm mosfet or just leave it alone? Will the vdimm reading be from the same mosfet as before or do I read it from the socket? I think I may do this tomorrow.

I think u'll only get the VIO voltage, In my K8NPRO it's like that, only the VIO voltage feeds the mems.

only connect like the pic, thats all.
no removing... dimm-mod too..., the measuring-point you used is the same as bevor.
the fat red wire is needed, the longer smaller one is not needed, but helps a little little bit.
conclusion: only two solder points.

Alright, that just makes it easier for me(not removing the old mod). So basically the vdimm will be the same or slightly lower as 3.3v correct? I won't need near as high a rail as I am using now(3.62 to keep 3.3 stable).

if your 3,3v actually 3,62v so the vdimm come close to 3,62v and 3,60v under mem-load, memtest86 #5
the success is depending of thikness of wire. use a fat as possible (massive wire).

I did this mod last night. It works awsome. I just wish I could turn down my 3.3v some more, the lowest I can get it to is 3.5, and I do not need that much vdimm for how fast I am running it. I hope it isn't bad for the ram.

I have thermaltake copper ramsinks on them, I don't see how I can have a fan blowing on them. I can't really push the crap out of my ram right now till I get a 3.0c or a 3.2c, but when I do I'll rape my ram lol.

Does the 3.3v mod work on a DFI Infinity?

I think the Infinity draws its vdimm from the 5v rail doesnt ? So doing this mod then increasing the 3.3v rail wont make any difference right?

I have a few questions.
How are you guys gettings 3.6 and above with your psu's, I have an antec with the pots that I can adjust but I can't get more that 3.33.
I did the mod on my MSI neo 2 and it works awesome...but I need more voltage, I am stuck at 250 fsb right now with 2,2,2,5 1:1 timings.
Did we ever figure out how to use the 5 volt rail? because my bh-5 is screaming for some 3.6+ volts

I think people have avoided doing the +5 for vmem on the boards because people have been saying high +3.3 or high vdimm kills A64.

The shuttle an5x used +5 for vdimm and i'm sure there are a couple others that do too which havent killed any cpu's yet without a vdimm mod... so somethings not quite right here. If I had a board and CPU to potentially blow up i'd glady test the +5v to vdimm mosfet on the LP-UT (requires cut trace) to see if it works.

When you do this mod, you are completely bypassing the motherboard circuits that provide the vdimm, making them irrelevant.

I don't mean that this mod is a good idea on all boards, I mean that this mod will supply 3.3v directly to the ram on all boards.
