3600 already been done according to rumour.

What matters isn't speed. Its performance at x speed timings with equal cpu speed.

I would bet money on 14-14-14 3200 vs those timings/speed even with the nb bumped by 200.

Thats probably Juan testing at ASUS. They dont necessarily give him uber kits to test with. Maybe high spped stuff but not in the tightest latency bin

So much better the newer bios/RAM that you must do it again?

Nah. Couple cpus arrived behind schedule. Thats the fed ex i missed. Decided to review not the best model or pick of the litter clock wise. Chose to review the one i think is a better fit for us AMD enthusiasts.

Created more work for myself but oh well. Would not be the first time.

Any board other than the Hero has AM3 holes? It'd be handy for the cheaper models to migrate old air coolers still up to task, instead of extreme cooling solutions as I expect it was their intention on the Hero.

The stock AMD mounts are the same, bolt holes are just different. The cheap air coolers will swap between all of the boards as long as it uses the AMD style bracket. No board outside of the HERO has AM3 bolt holes.

I wish while they were redoing those holes that they had stuck them in a square pattern instead of rectangular.

Thanks and yes, I was refering to (very) old air coolers that require AM3 holes as the TRUE AP15 Push+Pull on my sig, or other good air towers from the Deneb/Tuban days that won't get a new retention. Not really interested in migration cheap bracket ones .

In 3D testing I did recently on Windows 10, the title which illustrated the biggest SMT regression was Total War: Warhammer.

All of these were recorded at 3.5GHz, 2133MHz MEMCLK with R9 Nano:

    Windows 10 - 1080 Ultra DX11:

    8C/16T - 49.39fps (Min), 72.36fps (Avg)
    8C/8T - 57.16fps (Min), 72.46fps (Avg)

    Windows 7 - 1080 Ultra DX11:

    8C/16T - 62.33fps (Min), 78.18fps (Avg)
    8C/8T - 62.00fps (Min), 73.22fps (Avg)

numa could fix stuff its already in w10. no clue how much that will help.

I guess away around this however is to run not 8 cores but 4c/8t in gaming. I some bios's you can choose 2+2 or 0+4 core configuration.

Based on what was discussed 0+4 should help resolve the communication latency they were referring to in gaming at least.

Curious why they did not discuss cache thrashing

Honestly, the average 10fps that is lost from Ryzen to Kaby is not enough for me to even care.
Kinda made me think of the old AMD Overdrive profiles where you could set games and apps to specific CPU usage.
