    Beancounters working for Digitimes Research have added up some numbers and divided by their shoe size and worked out that chinese vendors shipped 145.9 million smartphones globally in total during the second quarter of 2016.

    This is a rise of 13 per cent on the last quarter and 22.9 per cent on year. IT means that 44.1 per cent of the global total came from Chinese vendors.

    They were not only selling to the huge Chinese market either. More than 58.6 million smartphones were shipped in overseas markets, increasing 20.7 per cent on quarter and 17.7 per cent on year.

    Huawei Technologies was the largest vendor accounting for 18.8 per cent of shipments, followed by Oppo 11.5 per cent, Vivo 9 per cent, Xiaomi Technology 9 per cent, TCL 5.3 per cent ZTE 5.3per cent , Lenovo 4.7per cent , GiONEE 4.5per cent, Meizu 2.5per cent and Coolpad 2.1per cent.

    Huawei accounted for 21.8 per cent of overseas shipments, TCL 11.3 per cent, ZTE 10.1per cent , Lenovo 8.2per cent, Oppo 6.per cent, Xiaomi 3.8 per cent, GiONEE 3.2 per cent and Vivo 2.4 per cent.

    Overseas shipments made up 84.8 per cent of TCL's total shipments, and the proportions were 75.7 per cent for ZTE, 70.1per cent for Lenovo and 46.6 per cent for Huawei.

    I myself use both iPhone and Huawei for mobile communication and entertainment. Both got their advantages and disadvantages and I use them in different circumstances. Personally my likings are more given to iOS, which is more secured compared to the Androi. I need some security for my business (language translation service).
