    Date of Ryzen launch (propably)

+ next information about OC and unlocked chips
    http://hwbot.org/newsflash/4208_amd_...d_and_oc_ready

PS:guy, dont tell about 5GHz AIO, its not possible. Or you can run i7-6900K or 6950X at 5 GHz stable?...Really not, massive cache, hyperthreading and too much cores are enemy of highest clocks (and the architecture of chip in any case).

Good write-up from Legit Reviews on available data on Ryzen and motherboards: Ryzen summary

    Some call outs:
PCIe channel availability, seems we might be forced to choose between multi lane GPU or multi NMVe
DDR4, current chips are happiest at DDR4-2400 and hitting DDR4-3000 problematical
X370 will be priced equivalent to Intel Z270 platform as MB makers try and recoup R&D costs so looking at $200-$300 or ?190-?285

Personally I will be looking for 2 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots for GPU (running in x8,x8), 2 x M.2 (both PCIe X4) and 4 x SATA for storage with a U.2 connection as a bonus. 3 x Type A and 1 Type C for USB 3.1 and a further 8 made up of USB 3.0 / 2.0. Throw in an Intel 211 GbE, a good quality codec, stable and reliable VRM setup and I'll be happy out. Cherry on top would be a PS/2 port for my Steelseries 7G

Quite eager to know how they will scale with temperature, i can't wait. Finally, this could raise my interest in oc again...

AMd is gonna get killed in the community if they price these anywhere near Intel's equivalent mobos or cpus.

    calling it now.

Surely not AMD's fault if mobo makers price an X370 board equivalent to a Z270 board with similar features? High-end Z270s are North of $300 I believe...

Hola my old friend FlanKer thank you for the information. I have too many questions to be answered before i buy Ryzen cpu for example: Do we have any true and real info on the single core ipc versus intel clock for clock ? Also any true and real info regarding what's the ceiling on DDR4 memory overclock ( absolute max stable ) on Ryzen cpu 8c16t and X370 boards ? Do we have a true and real release date of Ryzen cpu ? Do we have a true and real price and availability date ?

I am upgrading soon and i want a 8c16t cpu to be my next upgrade and Ryzen so far looks like it be my next upgrade , Ryzen by what we heard so far will be a good cpu but i still have more questions than answers , i guess as we get closer to launch date we will get more and more true , real and concrete info.

I hope it delivers since i really want to do a complete AMD built with Ryzen cpu + Vega gpu. Please keep posting more info guys , i like the way this is going

No, it is not. If a core can make 5000Mhz, it also does 4900Mhz...
So, if you have 100 CPUs, 74 of them will do 4900Mhz. Of those 74 CPUs, 56 will do 5000Mhz... and 26 from those 56 will do 5100Mhz and so on.

My 2c. All based on educated guess since any good contacts i had are long gone.

Intel is counter releasing kaby lake x ( a sign that they are concerned and will not lose there crown )

Amd is not using marketing gimmicks.
( having worked with AMD this is a sign of a product that can and will sell itself....remember llano marketing? None. All focus was on BD liquid helium WR hype)
The lack of single threaded results is a double edged sword....could be they don't want to show there cards yet.
Could also be that they still trail behind in single threaded ipc. Im inclined to believe its the latter only because I know for a fact AMD can not resist poking big blue. As long as its not a landslide like in the past it would be acceptable to me.

If there is one thing i do know...it's exactly how AMDs marketing team works.

Those two key points can only lead to one conclusion.

    Amd got there together finally.

I really hope Ryzen brings this community back to what it was from the XP/64+ all the way through Thuban. Once Bulldozer released it slowly started dying around here and the Phenom 2 era was some of the most fun I've ever had in an online community let alone an AMD one at that. Haven't posted in years but already seeing some very familiar faces in this thread!
