Yes, surely you have heard of the class lawsuit entitling everyone in the Unite States who bought "A new computer equipped with a Pentium 4 processor between November 20, 2000, and December 31, 2001, for personal, family or household use." to 15 Big Ones (Illinois residents need not apply).
Anyhow, I cant' remember the name of the system builder company that built my P4 computer....and so i need some assistance from some middle to old schoolers in helping me find their name.
(Note that this was the first, last and only pre-assembled PC I ever purchased)
Here is what I remember of the company:
1. They were a company back in the early 2000 era and they built desktop systems the same way Dell and Gateway does, certain builds had names and so on. You started with a base system like Dell or Gateway does and you could upgrade components (CPU, Ram, video, etc..). But, their PCs were cheaper then Dell or Gateway. I don't believe they designed their own laptops though.
2. They were a small company that took orders online. Certainly nothing compared to even compaq or hp or any known name company.
3. They did not discriminate you could get both Intel and Amd powered systems.
4. I believe their name was better know by its 'initials' something like 'PPC' or something...I swear their name has two words that start with P in it.
5. I keep thinking of the word "Micron" for some reason as well. I know at that time I favored Micron memory (even though I later found out they were price fixing around this time) but I believe that the company used Micron memory or was somehow related to Micron.
Pretty vague I know, like I said it was the only pre-assembled desktop I ever bought... and everyone at work laughed at me cause I had no idea you could just 'build your own?' at that time. I redeemed myself though by overclocking it !
Note that the first poster who can guess or just has extensible knowledge and drops a list of names...that leads me to the answer I desire, I will share $5 whole entire dollars of the $15 with that person. Also note you can just PM me if you don't want to be publicly associated with the lawsuit.
