Over the past while the trend has been for projects to move to a 7 day deadline.....
BUT
Since the run down at the end of the HCMD2 when run times were all over the place and otherwise reasonable machines were over-caching, There was a limit imposed of 25 tasks per logical core.
That limit has simply never been removed.
This has huge implications for anyone wanting to hit the ground running at the start of the 10 year challenge.
Those of you who have a Gig or more of ram per core and ssd's can probably cache 10 days work by running CEP2 but everybody else will fall short I think as the runtime of any wu under these conditions must exceed 9.6 hours to get a full 10 day cache.
I think one might even have to load 2 or more separate instances of each machine to achieve the goal.
Anyway.... Some food for thought even if just for the few who want to pursue this.
