WCG/Boinc points is broken: The proof

I would love to be able to say that my recent points gain is all of my doing but the truth of the situation is that I am just riding the points system roller coaster.

For over a year now it cannot be relied upon as a useful metric....especially when the science that we are working on comes in such disparate runtimes.



Based on my other rigs I would say that this rig should achieve in the order of 25k Boinc PPD running Vina as it does.

I am only smiling now because this is the first time I have seen gains of this magnitude. anyway 25K ppd = ~700K points per month and as a result of yesterday I am up.....just curious now about how long this lasts

What's also really broken is my BOINC clients' work fetch behaviour. 2 of my machines are estimating about 105h for the new short FAHV WUs, which take about 35 min to run.
Still, I guess that's an improvement over the situation 24h ago, when 1 was estimating 305h.
But they won't fetch more than a couple of hrs' work, and WCG servers will be offline for a number of hours on Sun.

I will take a punt and say that rickjb has taken action on the points front....

For those of you that have been running FAHV long wu's I would recommend that you check results status filtered to valid aids project and if you are getting well above average for FAHV then change your rig profile to aids project then abort everything except FAHV that is in the queue.

once your cache is re-filled then abort all autodock at least every 12 hours until the points go back to normal....... after which you can return to normal settings

be advised that there are still some re-sends of the long wu's floating around out there..... which I think may help to prolong the advantageous points awards

Just now, If your rig is giving better than normal points for FAHV then run as much fahv as possible is what I am saying.
