The timing of these has sucked.
waited and waited and then sick when they came.
Heart giving me issues but the DR's not quite sure what.
In the past 10 days I got so weak and had the symptoms of another heart attack but they can find no "markers" in the blood of one happening.
A week ago Monday I got so weak I laid down on my hallway floor because it was smarter than collapsing and falling down.
Then called 911, got an ambulance to take me to hospital as I was too weak to drive.
9.5 hours in the ER for nothing.
Then DR Weds, then cardiologist Thursday, then again, Monday I go for a 4 hour nuclear echocardiogram so they can REALLY see what is going on.
Add to this not sleeping and you get the picture.
Now I started this process last May 7, was supposed to have all the parts in late July, August latest but because of chipset issues and memory issues this was delayed.
Add in that the board I wanted was the one that would overclock and that is the last one they validated and believe it or not I have THE one X10DAX board that even exists from what I am told.
All the others are the nonoverclockable but same appearing X10DAi's.
Now I have all the parts and trying to just dig up the damned energy to assemble it and fire this bastage up.
Patience my friends. I want to see it up as much as you do but as that old line went "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak"

Don't worry about the motherboard stuff, it's not going anywhere. Get yourself better first.

Like the others said. Take it easy. Your health is more important than seeing that new rig up and running. Even to us. ;-)

Your builds are always over the top! I can't imagine what the PPD in that beast will be! Is there going to be a beast reunion?

I just read the rest of this page and the build can wait. Get well Dave and take care of your health. That's more important than a machine.

OK, this thread's been silent for a bit long, and I plus I'm sure a lot of others here at XS are a bit puzzled by this ...

This is Ground Control to Major Dave, This is Ground Control to Major Dave, Can you hear me, Major Dave?
Come back! All is forgiven! Even all that harassment to crunch harder during all those SC weeks.

I have a strong suspicion that you're having treatment for that ticker, so by the time you're reading this you'll be on the mend, so if so ...
All at XS Wish You a Complete & Speedy Recovery

Plus it's some kind of crime having that pair of E5-2699s sitting idle.

    Thanks guys.
Actually I got it running two days ago BUT of all things to not have in the house I was out of TIM
    Yes, can you believe that?
BUT being stubborn I grabbed the HS that had some TIM on them and said WTH, go for it.
Wouldn't give me video with the first vid card I tried so tried another and worked.
Idle temps in the high 20's. Installed the drivers and you know the first thing I tried was WCG.
Benchmark from memory was app 2750/14,450 with 72 threads
Then I set it to work for a few minutes on WCG and as soon as I'd downloaded enough WU to max it I looked at the temps and
Temps in the high 70's and I won't let a machine run at those temps.
Shut it down and two tubes of new good TIM will be here Wednesday.
As to health, I go into the hospital again on Friday morning for a radial catheritzation ( camera into the heart arteries to see for sure what is going on.)
That is about all I can tell you right now.
Sorry I didn't respond earlier but my energy levels are very low to the degree that if I walk 40ft I have to sit down.
Took me days just to get this 15 mins of work down to get this fired up.
Yea, I know, life sucks at times but it is what it is.
At least I'm still this side of the grass!

Really good to read your post, but do take it easy until you find out & fix that heart problem. If you can apply the TIM when it arrives without feeling bad, go ahead, but if getting up and down to do the job doesn't agree with you, postpone it. You could always leave the crappy TIM in place, reduce the no of cores allocated to BOINC so that temps are reasonable and put it online like that until you're well enough to finish the setup.

If your problem is that part of your heart isn't getting enough blood/oxygen, you could kill some of the heart muscle by overexerting it. Take it easy until more is known.
I'm no cardiologist, but I've learnt a bit about hearts, particularly over the last 4 years since my heartbeat became irregular.
    Here's a selfie I took a few hours ago:

Yep, I've got some ticker problems too, but fortunately AFAIK my heart muscle and its blood supply are OK. It's just the electrics that don't work too well, so that lump under my left collarbone is a pacemaker (without defibrillator). The other stuff is a 7-day ECG ("Holter") monitor, there because I've had trouble with the pacemaker dropping out when I most needed it. I think the dropouts were BSODs (Black Screens of Death), so it must run Windows . Maybe you could ask your cardiologist about how to get it online crunching WCG.
(Actually, the change in settings to increase responsiveness of the unit, made at the time the monitor was ordered, have fixed most of the problems )
