There is an old saying that the old must die so the young can bring in the new. I do not disagree with that. I think I have talked too much.

I'm not going to comment further. I fear I have been too pushy.

But I might cause trouble elsewhere....

So OJ is interested - Sam and OC - was that to mean you want to be considered with the draw option or ...? (Just trying to be abundantly clear - don't want anyone getting left out)

The more I think about this the more I feel it is a job for someone younger than I.

happy to support, help out or otherwise generally be of use to the "Captain" but truth be told I have too many things going on/changing in my life just now to be able to fully commit.

And I also think the team captain should be younger than OC. So that rules me out

Haha, I like the way you phrased that...

So unless anyone has an objection it looks like we have a consensus - no hat necessary... Dave, would you like to do the honors???

    Thanks guys, it's an honour

First things first, we need to get a supercomputer week going. The current output figures look as if they could do with a boost

If we can get this done across the board there is a tenth birthday team challenge in November

    Start Date: 11/16/2014

    End Date: 11/25/2014

Maybe we should join in....whaddaya say? should be cool enough to fire up some crunchers by then for most of us.

    https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.or...d_thread,37235

Maybe double it up with an SC week?

    http://www.seti-germany.de/wcg/

Um im Laufe der Challenge in Kontakt zu treten, hast Du mehrere M?glichkeiten: = To get in touch during the Challenge, you have several options:

    1. Benutze die Shoutbox auf dieser Seite (unten links) = Use the shoutbox on this page (below left)
    2. Melde dich in unserem Forum an und schreibe in diesem Thread (wird noch erstellt) = message in our forum and write in that thread (to be created)
    3. Benutze den Thread im WCG-Forum (wird noch erstellt) = Use the thread in the WCG forum (to be created)

Our new captain will have to contact WCG admins to start the process of changing captain officially, so he can get the authority to enter us in these competitions etc. Could take some time.

@OC - I like that, November is always a good month for supercomputer week (as per my rather outdated avatar and signature )

@sam - done, I've emailed support@worldcommunitygrid.org and submitted a support ticket explaining the situation

It's now 1:07AM and I need some sleep, cheers guys

I am up for the birthday challenge. In years past I have donated my crunching cores to a smaller team in need, but if XS is going to do the challenge, I will surely support the team. I might be able to crank up a nice multicore surprise that week depending on how much car repairs my beater needs and how much marriage loot we get .......

    Congrats my friend!

And as for the SC week - 9 days before the start of the challenge we need to clear our cache's and request a full 10 days worth of work... then disconnect until the challenge officially starts! It's all work VALIDATED during the week... let's keep that in mind!

As for the strategy of which sub-projects to focus on, if any - Guys? Captain?
