That's very impressive! What was the cooling method for the backside of the socket? Can anyone post a link to his thread, please? Thanks in advance.

Prime Blend is really hard on these chips tbone. I started at those settings and had to bring it up close to 1.5v in order to get 30mins of Blend stability... It probably would have ran longer, but I don't like to push my boards VRM's much longer than that. Temps had remained stable after the first couple passes so that shouldn't have been a problem.
I'm not sure 30 minutes of Blend is necessary for daily stability, but I do encode some HD video and it fails occasionally if I don't make sure it can do at least that much...

ah ok
my fx-8350 can't handle anything past 4.7ghz stable even with lots of volts...my new swiftech h220x is nice (better temps though) but i was hoping for a 5ghz something
i have an old stepping of 1249PGT...still looking at trading my 8350 for the 8370e

I've been using a Mem cooler over my VRM's for a couple years now tbone (you can see it in my avatar)...
Your right, it does help pwr/nb temps quite a bit, as well as overall system stability!
The one I'm using is a Corsair that came with a GT kit I bought a few years ago. It's on a fan controller and actually get's a little noisy when I crank it up during testing (BTW: I had to put a little rubber foot on the bottom of it to make sure it didn't short out against the VC)...
The one your using seems to fit better. Did you get the one you linked earlier?
For $15 it seems like a worthy upgrade, especially if it's quiet!

Dave, the g.skill one is far from quiet. i had to modifiy it by soldering on a 3 pin fan connector(comes with 4-pin molex) so i could hook it up to my mobo fan controller.
now its perfect, nice a quiet and ramps up when i need it. i also had to cut some metal of its chassis to make it fit. also white LED's are kind of bright if you don't like LED's
but it gets the job done, Vrms are 10-15C cooler
just saw the 8370e is on sale at newegg for $175 hmmmm
