I doubt we'll see anything for the desktop market (though, a bit more competition would be nice) as it's samsung and they're likely to focus on their mobile phones and TV's

I think that in the case that this rumor is true, will be a mobile gpu, never a desktop one.
Like they just want to completely get rid of powervr and qualcomm/mali in the future for his mobile devices.
It does go with them designing their own ARM cores and going fully custom like Qualcomm (Krait/Adreno) & Nvidia(Denver/GeForce) does allow them more control over their products. I can't see them doing a fully fledged GPU without stepping on some big licensing issues with AMD, Nvidia or others though.
I am not sure Rumer Willis should really be involved in GPU design though.
