Yeah, I saw this several hours ago, . It seems plausible, if it's right we should see ~25%+ or so over the 780 Ti. Keeping my fingers crossed for that and the rumored pricing.

Well according to this its ~10%, but with a hefty clock advantage, considering ocing advantage gets even smaller.

gota wait for real results, but to me it seems more it will be basically the same as the earlier maxwells, comparable performance to kepler with less consumption.

I find it interesting that they include GTX 770 SLI results, which is on the top tier of the charts...but not GTX 780 SLI...too close too performance of of the GTX 980 SLI I bet..

unless its a typo and its supposed to be GTX 970 SLI...that would make way more sense

So, any new word on release date and pricing, or even any vendor listings? I've been keeping my eyes peeled but only have seen synnex so far as distributors go . Looking like we're waiting until the 18th at this point? Anxiously awaiting a pair of GTX 980's for my 4k 60hz ips monitor at this point... been on a 750ti using subsampling for a month now and want to get back to native @ high speed/settings .

Most resellers will start selling on 19th.

The ways to buy on 18th are limited... Sometimes local shops can give you an early pre order coupon and you get the tech first. Ex: There are Chinese pre orders of IPhone 6 already, for 1 week time.

I was hoping it would be the 18th so I could get overnight shipping in time for the weekend, , oh well, #firstworldproblems as they say. Maybe we'll get lucky and amazon, newegg, or tigerdirect will list them early enough the night before accidentally .

    Thanks SOL.

Is it just me, or does that core look a lot smaller compared to the 780?

    http://www.techpowerup.com/205286/nv...-revealed.html

The GeForce GTX 980 is expected to start at US $599
well, nope not for that price... worse performance at high res/AA (its given due to the bandwidth limitations) for just a few watts in savings?

Why does this seem to me like a cheap cash grab to me..

    Wait until it's officially revealed.

I have a hard time buying that with a new generation of graphics cards on a new architecture and we're only going to see a 5-10% performance jump as some websites/forum users are saying off of rumored specs.

If I had to guess I wouldn't be surprised to find out that performance is intentionally limited due to not having the most updated drivers. It's not like nvidia hasn't done that before.

But I will say this - I've been buying nvidia gpu's since the GeForce 2 GTS - never seen things so quite before a release.

Either the NDA is air tight this time or you guys are slacking!
