Rectangular tubes vs circular tubes for condenser

Hi, I'm wondering if circular tubes are used for condensers only because of how common it is. It would be very expensive to manufacture a condenser with rectangular tubes because they simply do not exist according to my googling. Theoretically though, would rectangular tubes be more optimal? It is for water cooling, according to a sticky: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...read.php?54331

You often see flattened tubes in automotive applications, but not very often in traditional HVAC applications. Not sure why. Must not be worth the added cost.
