Project Golden Silence PS3 by G40RoCkEt - Link PDF PCGuia August 2014

    Hi there !

Just for share my PS3 project here that i started in December 2012.

Fresh news will be appear this September 2014 !

The new mosfet's water block customized is the good news so stay tuned.

Welcome all to my Project Golden Silence for my actual Playstation 3 60GB.

Golden Silence is a key word for silence and a unique design and modding.

I will show you step by step the all project transformation.

This PS3 was reballed a year ago (fan mod was installed too) but the YLOD returns again so i think

that the solution is water cooling

    Here it is the victim:

RSX and CELL with the glorious 90nm fabrication process.

    Some ventilation improvement.

The card reader cover was cut for provide some fresh air to the PSU with some exterior fans help.

All ready for the paint job !

Kit Thermaltake Big Water 760is for the water cooling job !

The aluminium cover inside have to be cut for the Extasy water block fits.

    The artesanal REFLOW process.

With all finished, it's time to test the console and.... it's alive !!

    Some measures and technical improvements.

The Liquid Extasy water block and the other acessories.

    Some Enzotech bonus !

    Removing the CELL IHS

White Carbon Fibre 3D for the action !

From my brain, to CorelDraw and finally the cut laser machine in acrylic.

    The Paint job done !

Water block fits and ready to rock.

Some pieces, rubbers and buttons fitted and ready for show off.

    Project Golden Silence acrylic mounted,

A water test for find any problems.

    Final stage

First water cooling tests and some temperatures recorded.

The ambient temperature used was 18 ?C.

    Final photos !

Thanks everyone for watching, i'm Portuguese so sorry for any bad english sometimes.

I hope you enjoy because i'm enjoyed right now my PS3 and the most important thing -- SILENCE !

    FINAL UPDATE -- 11-August-2013 ( PSU OUTSIDE MOD )

    Hi everyone !

    I'm back !

This time with the PSU outside mod and some extra cooling.

Next step is prepare the internal connections inside the PS3.

Some extra cooling in the ram's.

The tube configuration is not the best way but believe me, this actual config was the

    best to do.

I had many problems, angles limitations, no fix for the coolers and others...

It was a nightmare but i have figured out !

With everything finished it's time to run the first test.

Today was 30? C ambient temperature (inside house) in Portugal.

    Very very hot.

    And it's OK !

    PS3 very fresh now.

I run some games and the maximum temperatures was 55? C (CPU) and 52? C (GPU) but remember

    today was 30? C !!!

I will do some test to add to the original graphic temperatures but i have to wait for

a 18? C day to be accurate with the first measure.

It's all finished now and thanks for watching !!

    UPDATE - 04-Nov-2013 ( ## New temperature graphic added (PSU external mode) ## )

    Pics are dead bro =/

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

    Hi !

The pics are hosted in Photobucket and the free bandwidth is only 10GB/month.

The bandwidth renews always in the beggining of each month.

By the way, here it is the PDF link from a Portuguese Computer Magazine where Golden Silence was covered:
