OK:
So I am about to buy a 4K 85" HDTV.
I currently game on a single 780Ti Kingpin Edition with 4.0Ghz 22nm 6 core Intel on regular 2560x1440 ACER display.
Question:
Should I spend another $1,000 now to get a second 780Ti Kingpin for SLI mode for 4K (need 100fps steady for next all current + next 2 years upcoming games)??
--or--
Should I wait for "Nvidia 880" version (Maxwell top of the line?) and buy 2 for SLI to keep me at 4k 100fps for current and upcoming games - next 2 years?
I am leaning towards waiting based on 4K reviews out there - but how long is the wait?
Or do you think 2x EVGA 780Ti KingPin Editions in SLI will handle anything I throw at 4K for the next year at least? Again my instinct is to wait upgrade on day one to 2x 880 SLI, and Ebay my Kingpin. I have been away and cannot make sense of the Nvidia road map slide online.
What is the expected jump of performance on highest end Maxwell over 780Ti Kingpin? When will we get this 880? Will 2x 880 SLI be able to handle anything thrown at it @4K??
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise!!! I am going to move from desk gaming to recliner gaming on the huge 4K with mini-desk on rollers that I will roll over the recliner and have keyboard + mouse on it for me to use wireless. The giant tower gaming PC will sit next to the 4K 85".
