Different manufactuing plant, same stepping code. Problem using together? X5460 SLANP
So I managed to get a decent deal on a PowerEdge 2950 g3 with an X5460 and some SAS drives. The stepping code on the PE 2950 is SLANP, and it was manufactured in Costa Rica, according to the heat spreader labeling. So I ordered another X5460 SLANP chip from a reputable vendor on eBay. The auction picture shows a Costa Rica made chip. However, what I received was a SLANP chip made in China. Now I"m wondering whether these chips are compatible? Does anyone have any experience with this? I saw one post on OC"ers board that said they didn't think it would make a difference, since they both had the same stepping code and Intel is supposed to be meticulous about its manufacturing processes.
