Interesting comparison, we still use a few 4850e's and 505e's at work. I did expect an better ipc on jaguar in comparison to athlon64. Seems under linux jaguar performs better because most of the benchmarks made use of newer instruction sets.

This fact alone makes AMD look ridiculously stupid. The 5350 CPU part is as fast as AMD's Richland mobile A8 and A10 APUs.

Whatever team designed the Jaguar core, they deserve awards.
A 32nm Bulldozer module (containing 2 cores) was 30.9mm^2, while a Jaguar core on 28nm process is only 3.1mm^2.
You can probably fit six Jaguar cores inside a Steamroller module...
All while Steamroller is no faster than Jaguar sub 45w TDP

Imagine a large-design Jaguar core with 4MB L2, and dual channel memory? Clock per clock, it would probably be close to matching Steamroller in some applications.

Beema and Mullins bring the Jaguar family IPC even higher with dramatically lower power consumption. IPC of them is better than Steamroller as far as I know.
    Fold for XS!
