edit: Delidded today too, crazy temp difference. With 4.8ghz and 1.35v, Prime was hitting 90c instantly. Now it's only hitting 60c, and only using Noctua TIM between IHS and die. Was getting 27c temp variance before delid.

I have pics I will try to upload later of the delid process.
have to use one of the free hosting sites like here...just upload and hit "copy to clipboard' at hotlink for forums 1. then it will show up as pic not link.

So...yeah my M6E killed my L418 chip (or at least the IMC). This is the second Haswell CPU it has murdered. Not sure what it's doing, highest I've run VCCSA is 1.35.

I need Dumo's memory and mem skills.

Some delidding DC were seeing more Mhz (at ambient temps)...so for curiosity...
2 mins to delid using vice only method, 30 mins to clean adhesive off

    picture host

Prior to delid, CB r15 5ghz required 1.46v to run, 1.44v and below quick freeze. 5.1ghz instant freeze up to vcore 1.485.

After delid using PK1 as tim1/tim2 (CLP on the way for tim1), CB 5hgz w/ 1.365v very stable even with higher uncore (same vring).
crappy vid of CB 5ghz with 1.366v cpuz. http://youtu.be/90jmDmx39l4

    upload imagem

But purpose was 5.1ghz CB. I could now get ~2/3 of way through it best run with 1.47v, no diff 1.48v, but still fail. Will try again once CLP gets here for tim1.

I bought today an i5 4690K + asus Z97 deluxe, I will receive in start next week

what as I get stable with 1.20v max voltage? 4400 ? 4500? or more??

my corrent i5 3570K not like 4400mhz with 1.20v even with 1.25v and sometimes blue dead screen (but working very good with 4200mhz with 1.16v)

I not want xtreme overclock, I want only a nice overclock with nice temps for 24/7

what max I should can get with the 4690K with 1.20v?

Not really sure on the 4690K, but with the 4790K for a decent chip seems to be about this...
    4.4ghz 1.15
    4.5ghz 1.2
    4.6ghz 1.25

After this it seems to come down to delid/cooling methods.

    Right now I'm stress testing 4.8ghz 1.3v

My 4790K will do IBT at 4.5ghz 1.15v as well, but to be fully stable needs closer to 1.2v, or WCG crashes about once a day.

Just picked up the L419B538 the other day as well. Build is not scheduled till next weekend unfortunately. I'll definitely report back with numbers. Got a Corsair H105 and 760T for cooling. Debating de-lidding.

Finally replacing my ancient i7 920 D0 @ 3.6 GHz. I wonder if anyone is surprised to see a 5 year old overclocked chip still alive and kicking . Still s

P.S. my sig is super outdated. Still using the TRUE 120 for over 7 years now though hahah.

    the final overclock is complete

    i test many voltages

    for 4500mhz 100% stable needs 1.15v

    for 4600mhz 100% stable needs 1.175v

    for 4700mhz 100% stable needs 1.225v

i not try more than 1.225v because I want only test an overclock for I use for 24/7 with low temps

I decide use 4500mhz with 1.15v for 24/7 because have better temps and is enough

at playing the temps not past much more than 60

not the best cpu in world.. but not bad at all
