Moved to Motherboard Vmods.. close enough.

Ive never heard of anybody modding one of these before, but it should be pretty simple (I hope)

As usual I need pics of the motheboard and or the names of the Vregs. Pics of both sides of the board may help as these systems tend to put mosfets and Vregs on the back sometimes to save space.

    RichTek RT9173A

it looks like a mosfet, and its the only chip ive been able to reaseach up that has something to do with ddr.

i found the ic on a few chinese websites..

" DDR reveals saves the power supply still is this most common RichTek product RT9173A, this is extremely outstanding IC, it could the precise balance various interphase currents, maintenance power module hot equilibrium, guarantee the system stability, caused to reveal the card to be allowed completely to display its performance. Moreover RT9173A an internal also conformity extremely strong MOSFET tube"

Best i can do for now..

i took pics, but i cant get the micro to look any good...

*BTW* The ic i talk about is Right above the 12v Plug.

    Anyone can help?

That HIP6301 on the right side of the picture is for Vcore....or for atleast every instance where I have seen it used that is. It is on many Abit boards...and is also on atleast one of the newer A64 boards.

If ya mod pin 7 with a 50K pot, you are good to go on that one. I cant make anything else out of that picture. If you reach a bottle neck with the Vcore mod, that means the ICs OVP is kicking in, and you then need to mod pin 10 with a 50k pot and lower the resistance on it a bit, then try the VR from pin 7 again. If you still cant get any further, keep lowering the VR from pin 10 a bit each time until you start to see movement on your vcore without the rig rebooting.

I like my women the way I like my processors...naked.
I am not the HellFire that writes bios files. I work strictly on voltage modifications.
