    Here we go again!

Looks like in app a month I will be doing a new build with the upcoming V3 22nm Haswell based xeons.
SM board, Centon DDR4-2133 ECC REG memory and clueless on the specs of the cpu's I will use BUT it will be interesting.
The top bin is one called a E5-2699 V3.. 2300/2500 on turbo( I think) and 18 cores each..
    Yes, those I want! LOL

    So, you're gonna build a 72threaded system...

...what's all the excitement about ?

Looking forward to see how it gobbles the existing benchmarks....

That's all up in the air at the moment.
I might wind up with anything from 10-18 cores each and then there is the rumored unlocked versions..
Damn, I just had a Depends moment..

Sweet. When can I expect those 10 cores your crunching with now since you won't need those any more?

    I said "APP a month"..
Now that's what I was told last week and all I have to go on so far so no promises and remember all this stuff goes retail in mid Sept so it looks like I should get a good two month
head start. I started pursuing this app 7-8 weeks ago with the thought of 'If you don't ask they can't say yes"
Memory became the first hurdle until with the help of a certain gentleman we all know a certain company said they'd get me some 8x8 gig DDR4-2133 ECC REG made up for me.
The board and chips came next.
It will be interesting especially if I get some top cpu's but of course I won't be able to post any benchmarks till mid Sept...

    Is it here yet?!?!?!
I know, I know... but I got excited...

(BTW, those things are 145W each... better be prepared to cool them if you have any hope of running 24/7)

And anyone know if there's a economics reason to upgrade from my 3770ks? They've been running great, and I'm more than happy to leave them running in the corner unless I can make the economic case that I'd be better of to sell them and buy something newer because of the power...

24 hour prime stable? Please, I'm 24/7/365 WCG stable!

So you can do Furmark, Can you Grid???

I can't justify retiring my trusty 920's However, if WCG projects made use of MMx's, it would be a different ball game

REALLY?!?! You must have choice 920's or really low electric rates... When I did the numbers for my area it made fiscal sense to upgrade my Nehalems to SB if I crunched 24/7 for 3 years or longer with the computer. (Not on a per computer basis, but on a Work/Watt basis)...

for me its easier to pay an extra 10$ a month than pay 300$+ to upgrade the hardware.
