***Offical ASRock z97 OC Formula Thread - Tips / Discussion / BIOS / Tools***

This round ASRock has decided to create just a normal ATX form factor board, so there will just be the large OCF not an M.
The board will have the same coating as the z87 which im super happy about.
Its held up very well for me in the past even after heavy frozen memory benching countless times.

The price point in the USA will be $216-$225 for a fully featured flag ship board is

The z97 board pics up right where the z87 left off. Its clocks all IC's of memory just as well and doesnt have the hiccups that the z87 board had. ( Delayed post hanging on 9D or A3 for a couple seconds before booting normal ) Efficiency is top notch as usual

Thanks to L0ud for showing off what the Samsung and MFR can do.

Nice, can't wait to test it!
I'm happy about coating, perfect for memory under LN2.

OOS at the Egg at the moment, but I couldn't help but notice that the previous 5-year warranty that came with the Z87 board has been replaced by a 1-year warranty, according to the product page at the Egg. Is that correct, or a typo on Newegg's part?

IF correct, that's a BIG reduction and a 1-year warranty for a motherboard sure seems pretty short.

    Got any info on this?

May I ask what is cause of hiccups that z87 board had. ( Delayed post hanging on 9D or A3 for a couple seconds before booting normal )?
Mobo design or result from the chipset?

Well according to the ASrock website, no mention of the Z97 OC FORMULA, but there is an Z97M OC FORMULA, very confusing.

The OLED sometimes try to access lots info during bios posting . It cause bios to hang on 9D and A3 for a while .

Thanks for your reply, Nick. It might be a good choice to remove OLED on 97 board if it is the source of BIOS hanging problem.

Thanks for the clarification and I'm glad to hear that it is an error on Newegg's part. So, what exactly is the warranty period for this motherboard?

Thanks. I thought it extremely odd that the warranty would drop to only 1 year.

It's all about IMC strength when it comes to BBSE. All 3 of my kits (2133 c8's) would pass in single channel at the below timings but add another dimm and training was impossible. Change chips and no other settings and now all dimms pass go figure.
