Hey mate, yep these memory's are Pi 2000 cl6 I have few of these kits that are good as well as 2300 Pi kits

I have 2x kits of Pi 2200 cl7 memory's and these are also very good value, normally a very cheap kit to buy that can also do some nice results on LN2

Pretty much every Pi gskill memory I have tested works good,I believe Z97 OCF is clocking these memory's further then Z87 this is why most memory's are looking good

    Z87M OCF or Z97M OCF?

    Hi,

I'm about to buy my first ASRock board and I'm Looking for some expert advice. Would you guys recommend the Z87M OC Formula or the newer Z97M OC Formula for CPU overclocking? I'm looking to get the maximum possible out of my chip. The VRM and components looks to be weaker on the new Z97M, how much will this affect the CPUs potential?

Will be custom water cooling and deliding G3258/4690K/4790K.

Also whats the likelihood that the Z87M will support Broadwell next year? Any chance ASRock will release a BIOS update to support?

    Thanks

Thanks Splave, I was leaning towards the Z87M, it does seems like the better board for OC and I'm not likely to use SATAe or M.2 anytime soon. Intel Ethernet on the Z87M is also a plus

is there anything that maybe the Z97M does better than the Z87M? Or is the Z87M the better board all around?

Just removed HS from some Gskill Pi 2300 cl8 kit, these are st code ics

In my testing comparing KO to ST code memory's,St memory's not the strongest air memory's but seem to scale quite high volts with ln2.Just prepping OCF now with KP Ney Pro and these memory's to see how they go.

    gogogo bully!

I've been hammering on the board every night for the last few nights and not a single issue, other than potato cpu's

    Some XTU trolling

    5G

    full out

    R15 5G

    Very nice Loud,nice memory clocks

I ended up just retesting low bin Gskill Pi 2200 7-10-10 kit,-155 and kit tops out at 2.16v would be nice if the kit could push more volts

Crap, I was facing the same choice and took Z97M OCF found a low VID G3258, 1.012, batch 3418B968. Will put it under SS and see how it flies.

Confirmed now that my pci-e issue is cpu related, tested with G3258. Kinda badluck though since faulty Intel CPUs are very rare nowadays. Otherwise my 4790k seems kinda good. I got myself two kits of 2400 Cl9 Geil Evo TWOs coming next week. I'm looking forward to seeing how they perform and get some ln2 in near future again.

Did some 3D the other night on my GTX580,all test are what cpu and gpu clocks are set at in pics,I believe if I can push the gpu core clocks and gpu memory clocks more 180000 be possible
The board was pleasure to bench 3D and nice efficiency

Just ordered the z97 Formula. I have a decent 4790k and have tried out 3 other mobo's so far. Each had its draw backs and hoping this is the "one". Looks like the mobo to have for PSC, which I happen like. Maybe I'll get around to pressing them finally. 2sets of 2000c7 flares and my "big boy toy" 2200c7 pis. I'm comfortable with CPU and 3d, but have yet to fully dive into ram.
How good is the conformal coating? I've done due diligence on a pcmate and would like nothing more than mount a pot o this. Do you guys still grease, eraser, or LET on this?

Hey mate, you'll be pleased with the board it really is very nice to use,Nick has some nice profiles in bios that will help you as well as a 32M bios setting that disables all unwanted stuff and enabling a few things. The board trains memory very well,im sure few of us in here will be happy to help with any questions once you get the board.

The formal coating is very good but I myself still use a little Vaseline on my board just to be safe

be sure to post some pics and results when you get the board

Slow progress in XTU even without overclocking memory, finally managed to pass 4900. That chip is very touchy above 4800.

Thanks bullant, I'm on water. You're probably the right one to ask, did you ever come across a PI kit not able to match its spec?

I've got a 2200C7 kit here. At 1.65V, all I can get out of it is 2200C8.

Hey mate my iPhone not loading your pics cant see your timings and sub timings ,ill look at your pic when home incase I notice any timings off,on the matching spec thing I don't normally test PSC at those clocks.Normally I try 2600-2666 cl8-12-8-28 and volts,I can test it for you later on some of my PSC if you like,of the top of my head Sam or Websmile do bit of testing with PSC at spec and mite also be able to give there thoughts .

I have couple Pi 2200 kits that I can also test at spec

Just guessing here as I've never tested spec ,cl7 trcd 10 @1.65v depending on subs may not be that easy for some bin ,just a guess tho as I've never tried spec

its because the RTL on auto will set to tight at CL7 tWCL7 you can see already at CL8 tWCL7 it is 38 39 4 4

Maybe you can play with dram training threshold value to loosen rtl automatically or you can just run 2400 cl8

Hey aerotrack sorry for late reply,

I finally got around to looking at your pic and yes splave is totally correct,as you can see in your pic rtls are 38-39 already

So what happens when rtls are on auto and you drop down in cl rtls will want come down as well,so whats happening when you set cl7 rtls are wanting to run 36-37 @ 2200Mhz this now puts a little stress on you system as you have nice tight rtls if this makes sense

So for example if you were to train loose rtls say 39-40 or 40-41 @ spec then this would give you more of a chance to boot cl7 and lower volts ,also remember tighter rtls give better efficiency.I also agree with splave about moving up on the Mhz

    here is couple of pics

Gskill Pi 2200 running @ 2200Mhz 1.8v ,note the rtls on auto 36-37

Hi guys, I need your help!

my PSC 2666 with CL6 run without problems by SuperPi (DDR 2.20 / VTTDDR 1.034) otherwise only the profile of Nick for MemLN2
Boat with 2750 and 2800 CL6 is also possible, just not SuperPi
Timings are from the screen, only available on RTL 36/37/4/4

Can one give a hint of what you still have to adjust to the bar to get stable in SuperPi also about 2666 me?

Thanks Splave, bullant for explaining. I'll increase the clocks then, will post results once I get a grip with that kit
