Boredom and a 6600K

I did some brief testing of my 6600K before I put it in the bedroom HTPC.
It actually seemed to do pretty well, so I pulled it tonight and put an older 5800k (weak) in the bedroom box.
This chip is a lot more fun to play with!

I've only spent a couple hours with it on an ASRock EX6+. I know the Richland chips are old news, but I thought this was a decent CPU-z Valid...



This was done on ghetto water cooling. I think it actually has more in it, and I didn't push v's too much, so I'll play with it a little more...
Things have been pretty slow on the AMD side lately... I was bored and thought I'd share.

Yep, pretty good! It's insane how much better richland clocks compared to trinity.

is the same as Bulldozer vs Vishera. So around +150 MHz. Maybe higher for lower models

I just purchased my own first Richland chip - A10-5750M I hope to put it through some benchmarks, undervolting tests, etc. with PSCheck. Should be here this week!

Trinity never clocked well, Richland is a very good clocker. Its a way bigger difference than BD to PD.

If you plan to OC it I'll be interested to see what you can do with it... I know you have skills bro.

I'm not familiar with that chip, but I'm pretty sure it's not unlocked, and the one bad thing about my ASRock/6600K combo is it's not all that good with bus clocks...
Regardless, the performance of the Richland chips is darn good. Pretty sure you'll be happy with it!

PSCheck can do some nifty things like lock turbo multipliers...(up to 3.5 GHz I believe)
Outside of that, no overclocking, but 3.5 GHz isn't too shabby either.

The graphics performance is what I'm more excited for. I hope to be able to do some occasional gaming on this one... has 8650M + 8670M Dual Graphics.

I got an A10-5745 portable on the cheap -- and cloned the laptop HDD to a Samsung Evo 120GB. It's sweet. HP seems to be very 'clone-friendly' to SSDs.

It slays older titles like FEAR and R6 Vegas2.

I haven't checked scaling but it looks like it is outperforming on par with 8670M results on the intel side with 14.4 drivers. In gaming, microstuttering doesn't seem to be too bad. I only loaded Portal 2, though. ~45 fps medium high @ 1080p.
