Komodo-NV LE (Luxury Edition) VGA waterblock.

PR - Long Beach, April 28, 2014, 10:30 PST - Following the recent release of the Apogee? XL with multi-color lighting, Rouchon Industries Inc., d/b/a/ Swiftech? today announced the release of their Komodo-NV LE (Luxury Edition) VGA waterblock.

The Komodo-NV LE (Luxury Edition) is a full cover waterblock compatible with Nvidia? GeForce? GTX Titan, Titan Black, GTX 780, and GTX 780 Ti graphics cards (reference designs). The coolant flow path includes all critical components such as GPU, memory and power mosfets. Proper cooling of all the critical components contributes to overclocking stability and reliable operations. The block covers the entire PCB, leaving no components exposed to possible damages during handling. A brushed aluminum back plate is included with the product, and when used with the Titan version also cools the backside memory. The product includes interchangeable color strips to light up the coolant window and front logo plate in 4 colors: Green (as shipped), red, blue or clear. The company expects the AMD? counterpart (Komodo R9 LE) to be released next.

    MSRP: $179.95

Yeah, they make a nice block and I would love a swiftech komodo but I would never consider one when their competition's blocks are so much cheaper and less restrictive.

Which competitors? Swiftechs stuff isn't that more pricey than the other big names like say EK. Furthermore, outside of the apogee XT fiasco (aluminimum top though plated) their quality control has always been top notch. Plus you get some piece of mind as their RMA service has always been painless.

I know that I'll catch flack but EK always beats them to the punch on a new gpu launch at around $100. Aquacomputer and heatkiller blocks are also significantly cheaper.

Tbh, when you're water cooling these kinds of cards, cost isn't usually a huge issue.

    Edit:
I received an email from my Swiftech rep. today and after such I have this to say:
I had two Swiftech items (MCP35X pump and reservoir)...and the reservoir had to be revised and my pump ended up being one of the very few 3% that got recalled. That said, Swiftech replaced both...cross-shipped the reservoir...and cross-shipped the pump after I verified the return pump's tracking #. I was skeptical and worried at first, but in the end the stood behind their products 100%.

You got to factor in the 'back plate' and much better 'aesthetics' that accompany the Swiftech block. But true, they need to come down a little in price because in the end I sacrificed aesthetics and got the EK block instead. XSPC really messed up their block by not running water over the VRMs with their 7970 block....other than that the performance between all the other blocks is marginal.

Why wouldn't it be? Other than blocks I haven't spent a penny on water cooling gear in a long time.
