Just because I heard a lot of mixed info on the Gene7, is 1T possible for you with the MFR Team?
Not sure, I actually boxed the M7G up to send back to Amazon. With the Devil's Canyon BIOS for the M6E, I simply don't need the Gene anymore.

Can someone tell me the height of the memory module? I'm looking at getting a set of these and potentially a DH-15, so I need to know if it will clear them. Can't the top part of the heat spreader be removed?
I'm traveling for a few days but if you haven't received a reply by the time I get back I'll post the measurements for you. As for the top part of the spreaders, these are one piece so no, you can't remove the top part like you can on the G.Skill Trident X Series.
In memory of Gracie, my sweet, sweet wife and mother of my children. Darling, we will miss you dearly. May you rest in peace (born to this world on March 30, 1976; went to her Heavenly Father on Good Friday, April 22, 2011).

Ok thanks. I Guess the other alternative would be the F3-2400C10D-16GTX, which I assume are capable of 2660 cas 11.
Actually no, unless G.Skill has changed the ICs it uses on that kit. Every pic I've seen of them have a serial indicating Samsung 4Gbit ICs which struggle to get higher than DDR3-2550. Honestly if you're looking for DDR3-2400C10 sticks of the 8GB variety that can overclock to 2666+ and won't cause issues with large CPU heatsinks, you actually may want to take a look at Patriot Viper 3.

Guys if I order this memory in the 16 GB kit will I definitely get MFR? I guess I can return it but just wanted to double check.

Yes, there are no other ICs that can do these specs on 8GB modules.
Awesome thanks...

hi
for Z97 which would be a better choice ?
Team Group Xtreem Series, DDR3-2400, CL10 - 8 GB Kit
Team Group Xtreem Series, DDR3-2666, CL11 - 8 GB Kit
can get any of the team kits for a great price new
or the trident x 2600cl10
thanks for any help
TeamGroup will most likely be single-sided Samsung (2400C10) and single-sided Hynix (2666C11). On the other hand, 2600C10 TridentX are dual-sided Samsung, which is a much better choice.
my problem is trident x costs me twice the price of the team kits :-)
the team 2400 is the same as trident x 2400cl10? i had one of those and no go :-(
thanks man
2600 CL10 kits are more expensive because they're much better.
I'd buy the kits you listed in the following order:
2600 CL10
2666 CL11
2400 CL10
Well, to be honest I wouldn't buy the 2400 CL10 kit at all. I think it's build with the same chips as the TridentX kit with the same specification.
hi don
yes you both are right, the way to go is 2600cl10, but i can get the 2666cl11 kit (8gb) for 75 euros new and has i have seen this thread my hope was that it would work well with a G3258 for fun

i know i know about the 2400cl10 kits and in a very hard way .-)
when i bought the RIVE i bought the 4X4gb tridentx 2400CL10 so i know what it is worth :-)
just got rid of it for a good price so its all good as long as people want speed and a lot of gb

I got the team 2400c10 16g kit, it can run 2666 cl11 13 13 & 2800 c12 14 14 1.65v too. So it's either Hynix mfr or new Samsung. Cheers
