CFR is a 2Gb IC, which means you can only build 2GB ( 8 chips ) or 4GB ( 16 chips ) modules. MFR is a 4Gb IC, therefore you can build 4GB or 8GB modules.

I'm typing this on an Asus Rampage IV Formula X79/3930K rig currently running 4 of those modules. At the moment I've only tested them at 2400 since my IMC doesn't go much more. Going to be moving them over to a Haswell rig before too long for some additional testing. While some might be turned off by their appearance, I personally like the white spreaders, as they match much of the motherboard lettering, as well as the locking tabs on the PCI-E and Dimm slots and also the Corsair lettering on the H100.

Those modules were $149 per 2x8GB kit just a couple of weeks ago and I got them with a 10% off discount code, so they were $135 per kit. They have increased to $162, however, for a 2x8GB 2666 CL11 kit this is still pretty cheap compared to the other options.

You must have caught them during one of those unadvertised "24-hour" sales.

The version with the black spreaders is also listed for $163. Their white single-sided 2x4GB DDR3-2666 kit is priced at $99 making it one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest kit with those specs.

The white kit is $159.99 now, and I had a 10% off coupon so I ordered two sets.

At $144, for a 2x8GB kit of 2666 CL11, I just don't see how you can go wrong, especially when you compare that to the alternatives.

And now, back down to $149.99 before the 10% off.

Might want to consider contacting the Egg and see if you can't get them to credit you $10/kit. They are usually pretty good about that, especially if you are one of their good customers...and from what I've seen of your buying pattern, you certainly ought to qualify.

thanks TaPaKaH the teamX work perfect at XMP 1.65VDimm

but as im on a heavy 3x SLI 780HOF and M6E on 4770K 48HT OC when i go to 1T i need more volts...on the ASRock will do it without increasing VDimm and my CPU will be stable at 4.9HT at same VCore i'm on ASUS, but the ASRock Z87 OC formula gave me a bad suprise, the Tri SLI didnt work...I have my record on air on it at 3448 from 2666 on TeamX 2x4GB on ASRock.

Oh wow, you didn't know the Asrock couldn't do tri SLI? No PLX chip like the M6E, though you found that out already the hard way
