    Ceramic disk Capacitors

Who has a good explanation on how to look one up for replacement. The reason I ask is I have one in a power supply board for a TV that is burnt but I can actually read whats on it. It says DSC 5D-15. I have no idea what the specifications are on it. How do I read it to figure out what to replace it with?

That's actually an NTC Thermistor. That number should allow you to source a replacement.

I already ordered one I was just wondering how to tell what exactly the specs are for it. I had a board a while back that I pitched because I couldn't figure out what the disk capacitor was capable of.

@NKrader Yeah I know this is not a TV forum but this is where the smartest people I have ever talked to visit. So I ask my questions here and get pointed in the direction that will help me.
Thanks for the link I didn't see that one. I found one that said it was compatible with this one.

Anyone ever change one of these in a PSU with any success??

I have not thrown broken ones away yet but I was thinking that any surge that killed such a component would kill other stuff too.

The board I just did is working fine but it did surprise me because 3 35v caps were pooped also. I was planning to replace the board all together but for about $15 I had to try... lol

The guy it was for has been using it for several days now and says it works great.
