hey, just received the cpu earlier and notice that surface of HS is not flat. well done intel intel is making these chips without any consideration.as nothing is bothering them. now the problem will be when installing with H100i.and the results will be extra crappy no matter what i do. dont wana lap it that will void the warranty . can i return it or may be using thick thermal paste or some other ideas?

Like... how uneven? A picture of it compared to known flat surface would be good

just busy setting up this build. used a thin blade edge on the hs and notice the corners was not even .so just installed it with h100 and old thermal paste i had. temps are not bad at stock settings like 29 idle on all cores and 60 load with linx. 30 ambient. these cpu runs cool. will push it further for real test

thanks, looks like they did poor job. the problem is the temps as the cooler not making good contact with HS. the HS surface is not totally flat. cooler is perfectly flat.

Around 55-60?C full load with ambient temp at 30?C sounds perfectly fine for me.

I've had 3 Intel CPUs since I wen't to the dark side 2600K, 3820, 4820K, all of them had 10?C difference between the coolest running core and the hottest one. If the surface is convex I wouldn't mind...
