    New Rig (probably MSI Z87-G45 & i5-4670k)

    Currently have:

    Asus P5Q-E
    Q6600@2.4
    Scythe Infinity
    2x2 Kingston HyperX KHX8500D2/2G & 2x2 GeIL 8500C5UDC
    Sapphire Radeon X1950GT 256 Mb
    Asus Xonar DX
    80 Gb Corsair CSSD-F80GB2-A for OS + 3 Samsung HDDs (HD753LJ, HD103SI, HD103SJ)
    Thermaltake PurePower 600 Wt
    CoolerMaster HAF922

    What I want:
new PC with better performance in Adobe Lightroom 5. Now I've lags even while sliding RAWs (24.6 Mpixel) made by Sony α850. I read some articles about Lightroom optimization, but it didn't help so much.

I'm not a gamer and I'm not going to set OC WRs or run benchmarks, so there's no need for me to get high-end GPU or RAM with high o/clocking potential. Stable work on CPU frequency that Thermalright True Spirit can provide is enough for me.

So, below is the list of new parts I want to get for upgrade:

    MSI Z87-G45
    i5-4670k OEM
    Thermalright True Spirit (already have)
    Corsair XMS3 9-9-9-24 CMX8GX3M2A1600C9
    Sapphire Radeon HD7770 1024 Mb
    SSD 128 Gb Plextor M5S

Storage, sound card and PSU will be the same. I tried to pick up parts which as I suppose are the best for $$$. Plus, currently there're not so many Z87 motherboards at the market here, so Z87-G45 seems to be pretty reasonable choice. I'm not sure about the memory and GPU but like I said before these components don't have to be high-end products. I also chose Plextor M5S because of lots of good reviews about it. If there's something better for the same price please let me know.

Will 16Gb of RAM increase performance in Lightroom? If yes, then which kit is more preferable: 4x4 or 2x8?

You mean there'll be a huge performance increase?

Thinking about ordering G.Skill Ripjaws F3-1600C9D-16GXM kit. There're people using this kit with MSI Z87-G45, so there shouldn't be a compatibility issue.

...and Sapphire Radeon HD7770 1 Gb, Asus Xonar DX from current build and some storage.

Now I'm waiting for Antec P100 to arrive. However, I tried new build without case and honestly I was impressed with the noise level. It was like nothing at all (here's short video from my IG account). May be I did something wrong .

Btw, I planned to leave Thermaltake Purepower 600W PSU, but decided to replace it with modular TR2 RX 650W also by TT.

That is going to be a hell of a lot faster for you , the GAMING line is very nice and I am pleased that they all have only PCI-E on the board. The onboard MSATA is a very nice feature I am using on my MPOWER currently, nice not to have any extra cables/wires

I hope so . Currently my parents have PC that I used ~7 years ago when I was a high school student. It's AMD NewCastle 3000+ CPU on some Asus S754 platform. Imagine what it will be like when they upgrade it to at least i5-3570(k) .

    Not such a big issue.

    Ta-da

I'm not Top Cable Manager, but it still looks clean .

Very happy with my new build. Solid look both inside and outside, good performance and very quiet.
